Went for an oil change for my 2016 Mazda 3 and came home with this one

Expensive oil change but this kind of thing happens  ;D

Congrats on your new Mazda red, it is even nicer than my Chevrolet red  8)
My wife specifically told me not to come home with e new red Mazda.

So she believed you when you told her it followed you home??  And can we keep it?    :rofl2:
Best comment. I should have thought about it.
The compromise is that I quit smoking cigars and stop going to the barber (she actually gave me a very nice hair cut).

Nice! That is a colour that turns my head whenever I see it. Especially as so many vehicles are still grey/white/black

How was the shopping experience in these Covid times?

I am an easy shopper as I knew exactly what I wanted and this was the first time ever that I negotiated on the price. They gave me $500 off the MSRP, front and back all weather floor liners and they installed my brand new tires from my 2016 to the new car at no cost. It was the only car on the lot. They gave me the car for a test drive over night. No hand shakes and kept distance. I also got a bottle of vine when I picked my new car.

Congrats and I like how you shop. Agree with others, great colour and I think Mazda has a few really nice colours going for them right now. More pictures of the inside and more early opinions vs your old car if you want.

I think Mazda finally fixed the rust issue. I have not seen a Mazda 3, 2010 or newer, with body rust.

Here's hoping, because they make great cars otherwise.  Mechanically, the Mazda3 is pretty bulletproof, they handle great (or at least they used to when they had multi-link rear suspension), and the interiors are typically nicer than Honda/Toyota.  Rust was really the only issue that would kill their longevity.  If they've fixed it, then Mazda is up there with Honda/Toyota as a recommended buy, as far as I'm concerned.  I actually did recommend that one of my friends buy a Mazda3, and she did just that, picking up a 3-4 year old Mazda3 Sport.

My 2010 Mazda3 was rust free when I traded it in two years ago.

Congrats on the new Mazda.  That colour is amazing.

Mazdas are great cars in the long run but the resale value doesn’t reflect it. That makes it an excellent car to buy on the used market. Granted we had a number of things that needed work in the first 6 years all covered under the bumper to bumper warranty we ended up buying, but it’s been trouble free ever since, 180k now.

Everything here went at 100-120k:
-Driver seat assembly failed
-Clutch slave leaked
-Passenger seat belt stopped latching
-Both front wheel bearings went

Plus there was one TSB or recall for the alternator which caused the lights to flicker high and low when engine braking in gear, the concern was it would cause the lights to burn out from over voltage. This was present from when the vehicle was brand new but I also finally had this fix around the same time as everything else which simply involved a PCM update.

One of the reasons I don't post pictures that much on this forum is because they always end up wrong no matter what i do to correct it. This is while using an iphone. My crappy digital camera does not seem to suffer from this .

I would agree with others the Soul red really stands out on this vehicle.

I’m usually not a fan of red, but that deep, metallic burgundy looks really good on that car. Even better right side up. ;)

Sweet car. Love the colour. Congrats!
