Mazdas are great cars in the long run but the resale value doesn’t reflect it. That makes it an excellent car to buy on the used market. Granted we had a number of things that needed work in the first 6 years all covered under the bumper to bumper warranty we ended up buying, but it’s been trouble free ever since, 180k now.
Everything here went at 100-120k:
-Driver seat assembly failed
-Clutch slave leaked
-Passenger seat belt stopped latching
-Both front wheel bearings went
Plus there was one TSB or recall for the alternator which caused the lights to flicker high and low when engine braking in gear, the concern was it would cause the lights to burn out from over voltage. This was present from when the vehicle was brand new but I also finally had this fix around the same time as everything else which simply involved a PCM update.
