I had my heart set on a manual car. Corolla XRS, S, in manual are a lot more easy to find. I seen one high millage during my search over about 3 months. They pretty rare, I think.

The Corolla had the 2.4, the 2.5 is so much better. The easier way to get that engine with the 2.5 6 speed manual is in the Scion tC.
Does a Lexus ES250 with a 2.5 and a manual count even if it's a V6? :)

Remember those?
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

They haven’t made manual ES since the early 90s.

I know you meant IS lol. Nice vehicle. Would like one but the tC is bigger and more functional being a lift back and all.

Yes, yes, I forgot about that, I was looking for low millage tC, plenty in Toronto in a manual. sadly my ebike couldn't make it.

Congrats on the Camry!

Cheers.  ;D

Still dwelling on used car prices. I wonder if we are seeing the hangover of the lack of new product during the financial crisis followed up by the reduction in supply (Fukushima disaster) on certain Japanese brands. I know my 2011 Ridgeline was one of the few that was built before the line was stopped due to unavailability of some do-dads from Japan.

Used cars are become increasingly expensive. It is partly to do with the lack of supply and the high number of people leasing, most new off lease vehicles never touch Ontario used car market. technology also is factor. Most modern cars last a lot longer and Canadian keep their cars longer, all play a factor in high used prices. But here in Canada, you paid some of the highest used cars in the world IMO. BC is especially bad for high price cars. I'm comparing it to UK.  I have no Idea if it is similar to Canada, in the states for used cars. I would suspect cheaper, simple because of volume.

My daughter recently went through the used car search experience in Vancouver.  I can attest to the selection being poor and prices very high by most standards.

Are used cars getting picked over by buyers looking to send them south of the border?

I know at the industrial equipment auctions here in AB people were saying it was mostly headed south as US buyers snap things up with their 30% discount

Very well could be. I have noticed that Canadians are currently getting a good deal on new motorcycles and parts prices vs Americans. Multiplying by 1.4 has slowed down my buying of things out of the US. Better deals to be had (at least short term) in Canuckistan.

This is a big reason I’m opting not to buy a second car for the time being. Edmonton actually had better used car pricing i think because they are more isolated from the US exchange rate.

Edmonton has always been good for pricing. Always cheaper than Calgary.

It's even worst their. I was truly surprised I though I could easy pick up 2013 Corolla automatic for 5 grand. I was so wrong and out of touch. try closer to 12,000. Manual really is the only way to save money buying used cars.

Is like Quebec. Salt being a factor as well? Quebec cars are a lot cheaper too.

Does a Lexus ES250 with a 2.5 and a manual count even if it's a V6? :)

Remember those?

I always thought the second gen ES with the manual would be a neat car to own. I think the manual was discontinued after '93 or '94.

I was told at the time that the Seattle dealers were regular buyers at the Vancouver auctions.

Well, I pick up the green, blue, grey...fridge, Not bad at all. drives little numb on center. There no real sense of the car doing anything really. It just happens. I wonder mildly if I was actually driving, or was I being driven by the Camry. I'm just there to vaguely steer. Anyone who owns late Audi feels the same. My nephew has one. I can't tell the different. The power too is seamless, The car whooshes up to 120, in about 9 seconds without pushing it. there is hardly any sound when your driving. You just get to enjoy the view of open road and or conservation, You do get the typical Toyota 2 liter reassuring start. That I haven't heard in a while. The engine just mildly hums, just above a whisper. when driving around. Even Highbury seems smooth from Hamilton to 401 The suspension soaks up just everything, sometimes you hear that faint bumbling sounds, if that makes any sense. The Echo, your hear everything. So far, so good. it feels new really.

Nothing on the clock.

You can see the that Toyota wanted to mimic the 2011 Camry face, To give the Corolla a more upscale appeal in the 2011's

The only thing I'm slightly apprehensive about how much will the LED cost to fix. As nice as they are. I like Toyota Camry, back end the most.

Ruby likes the car too.
