did we lose Brig?

Months ago.

I know Brig has been gone for awhile.......anyone know why?

her last post (from last February) is probably a pretty good indication.........

"C’mon guys.  You saw what happened in the other thread.   That’s why it got locked.
People are leaving this forum in droves because of the nasty horseshit and personal attacks.  It’s not a fun place to be anymore. ")       :(

Since we're in contact on a FB group, I have some idea why.  But I also know that if she wanted to make an announcement, she would have.

She came by my office a few weeks ago for a service on her CX-3 - made it pretty clear that she doesn't want to be here anymore thanks to some people.

Well there you go. Perhaps it is time to shut it down.

That sucks.  But I can see her point.

That's always been the case, here and on every other internet forum or whatever. If people are on too much they start taking things personally.

As moderator though she couldn't take a break or stay out of the parts that irritated

Pandemic didn’t help. People are generally grouchier, less tolerant, and online more. A dangerous combination. This was always a good time wasting site and with good people and diverse opinions. But people started taking themselves too seriously and I now check in maybe once a month. It’s no different than any other online forum website or FB group.

Hey, where's Shane been? Can't remember his username but S2000/MR2 Shane. I'll send him a note on FB to see what's up...

I've sort of begun to see where some of the longstanding members just lost patience and walked away quietly. There are some attitudes from very specific people that are really starting to irk me. It sucks because I genuinely enjoy the friendships I've made here (plenty of which have carried into real life), and the company.

Silly question - is there an ignore function for specific posters?

If you go into your profile settings, there’s a buddies/ignore list. You can add names there.

Haven’t felt the need to try it myself, tbh. I would think it might make threads seem disjointed and hard to follow.  :-\

Yup. I've used it - but it's never had more than one or two constituents at a given time.

When one enters the Political Forum it should be a given that's it "enter at your own peril".  There is a mountain of shite happening out there so it's no wonder ppl are "upset".  But you can't blame the forum.  We have enough victimhood as it is.
