Is a center stand a worthwhile upgrade??

Yes.  For off road and chain maintenance.

i think so...it's better for storing the bike, and also makes some maintenance easier (chain lube, etc).

Huh, I'll see if I can get a good deal on one from the dealer.
Lighten up Francis.....

also, you may want to get a side stand puck...they look something like this:

https://www.amazon.ca/Holoras-Motorcycle-Kickstand-Universal-Motorbike/dp/B07SB2VKVJ/ref=asc_df_B07SB2VKVJ/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=335168077178&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17142150380098112450&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9001074&hvtargid=pla-835696953007&psc=1

you can probably find something locally (maybe even at the place you are getting the bike at)...if you ever need to park on asphalt on a hot day, or ground (dirt/grass), it prevents the stand from sinking into the ground and having your bike fall over...they're typically $10-$20, so pretty cheap...if you don't have one, but need something in a pinch, you can usually find a pop can or something and step on to flatten it...but if you can grab one of these and keep it handy, they are good.

I know for awhile, Kawasaki was offering free accessories with purchase of Versys-X 300. Some combination of centre stand, hand guards, side panniers, and more up to a certain value. But you're getting a good price on the bike itself so free might not be an option but see if they'll give you a good price on it.

I certainly loved the centre stand of my old scooters.

Hot damn Fob!  Sounds like you got a smokin' good deal!  Looking forward to the riding impressions.

My kid's taking his Class 1 license for the next 6 weeks...what's the first thing he does after day 1?  He heads to the motorcycle dealer to look at bikes and shoes and stuff.  Today...off to the Honda dealer (he already has a nice Honda jacket, so figures he can't get anything but a Honda now).  I hope he buys a bike, I hope he lets me ride it while he's working in the southern US this summer.  Someone's gotta break it in, right?  ;D  He'd probably see if he can throw it on the back of the semi instead, take it with.  That'd be smart too.

Oh I guess I will just live vicariously through those who still ride...sigh...

Didn't SirO put himself in the hospital on the way home from the dealer somehow?

Be sure your wife is there to record the event, assuming she can hold the camera in one place (mine can't) - if not get someone else or set up a tripod.  And remember, there's only ONE way to do a proper burnout...

And that aint it!  ;D
