I know less then nothing about these cars but is that the proper ride height? It looks like its ready to tackle a gravel rally stage.

Spoken in an engineering meeting a long time ago...

Because it needed WAY too much after buying that couldn't have been foreseen, and everything you could need for this POS is "3-6 weeks, Germany". Stupid junk.

That said, we did a full tranny rebuild, motor rebuild, new brakes, calipers, etc... thing drives really well now.

Sad thing is these cars don't pull 911 numbers ... yet. The very early Ontario car on BaT holds some promise in that respect, being 1) first batch, 2) stick and 3) Pasha. But you can be under quick with a 928...

This one shows hope on that front: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1981-porsche-928-51/

And there's always this option of course  ;D : https://bringatrailer.com/listing/porsche-m28-v8-coffee-table/

Doug Demuro wrote a piece recently about how cheap early Panameras are getting: https://www.motortrend.com/features/buy-used-porsche-panamera-doug-demuro-column/

So I went looking on AutoTrader and found this one: https://www.autotrader.ca/a/porsche/panamera/edmonton/alberta/5_61739355_20120229092122974/?showcpo=ShowCpo&ncse=no&orup=4_12_12&sprx=-1

$22k at a Porsche dealer, 188k on it, based on the CarFax it's a one owner car that spent a lot of time in California. Seems to have all the desirable performance options like PDCC, air suspension, sport chromo, 18 way seats, sport exhaust, 21" RS Spyder wheels, etc. I know Panameras are generally considered to be reliable so I wonder what the ongoing runnings costs of something like this would be.

I dunno, the Panamera is like 100x more complex.  ;D

The Jaguar is actually a fairly simple car all things considered.

Just incredibly poorly built, for all its simplicity.

I dunno, they have their flaws but I did a lot of research before I bought and they're actually considered to be reasonably reliable. The biggest challenge is probably parts availability.

It was a PDDC problem that prompted me to pass on that stunning red Panamera Turbo I had a PPI on.

PDDC Sway bar is $2k US. Non serviceable. Replace only.

PDDC pump is also the power steering pump. $2k US

I wonder how the V8s are holding up in these? I believe I read that the V8s in the first gen Cayenne had bore score issues.

I would go base V6 without the fancy suspension for lower operating costs.

Knowing this, the Turbo I looked at I had the cylinders bore scope and leak down/compression test.

You could see some micro scoring but leak down/compression test was unaffected.
