Fook me this is cool.  The only thing I’m not too impressed with is the addition of electric power steering instead of hydraulic.

Something weird is up. This is one of my very good friends' cars, and he sold it to Pfaff Reserve for $125k. Not sure why they would sell it for less. But it provides context - it's the same year as mine, not a ROW example, has almost double the miles, and is generally in worse shape. We've serviced it at CFC for many years. Nice car, though.

That is strange that they would sell it for less.  I don't think cars typically get bid up from the listing price.  What did he trade the vehicle in on?  Maybe they made enough on that deal that listing it lower still nets a decent profit.

He didn't trade, he was just liquidating to take advantage of the market. He had the car for 15+ years and got all the enjoyment out of it.

Hmmm, well in that case I guess it is mighty strange that they would list it for less.  I don't picture it being the type of vehicle that gets butts in the door to buy other marked up vehicles, but who knows.

How long ago did he sell it to them?

Speaking of Pfaff, they have that chromaflair GT2 RS up for sale again: https://www.pfaffreserve.com/used/vehicle/2018-porsche-911-gt2-rs-id11574911.htm

I don't think it's on their site yet, but they also posted this amazing 991 C4 GTS on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/CfCVox-pe0o/ Love the duck tail and BBS wheels.

I love it when a plan comes together.

I like to give good friends the benefit of the doubt, but it's possible. I tend to believe until proven otherwise.

Maybe they gave him cash + non-cash benefit, like an allocation for a car :)

Seems nearly reasonable. 997.2 S, manual, $73,000 asking...high km but still.

https://www.autotrader.ca/a/porsche/911/north%20york/ontario/19_12301936_/?showcpo=ShowCpo&ncse=no&orup=25_100_483&sprx=-2

That's a very nice spec (could do without the black wheels though).

I was just listening to Spike's Car Radio and they had Seinfeld on. One of the listener questions was if he had a hard cap for miles on a Porsche that would prevent him from buying it and he said there wasn't one.

I always wonder what the original price of such a vehicle is.  That likely wasn't too crazy, I would think $73K would at least be 60% retained value after 12 years.

I mean if he's talking about himself, yeah I'm sure he doesn't have a mileage cap, but then he can afford to repair these high end vehicle or even have them completely restored.

I think his point was more that with proper maintenance they last pretty much forever.

Really, really high miles. I'm looking for a sub-$100k 911 coupe with a manual, must be black, for an extended family member. Having trouble finding anything 997.2 for this... and would definitely like an S or 4S if possible.
