Good logic overall, but I will have to challenge you on the used 997.2 part because that $75k used 911 was probably $125k when new, or more depending on the options... so it's not quite apples to apples when compared to a new Cayman

I don't think the new price of the 997 is relevant. He's not saying that he can buy the equivalent new car for $25k more, he's saying that he can buy a new car that matches his criteria for $25k more.

Yes, that's exactly it. I'm simply comparing what's out there now, how much it costs, vs. the new GTS Cayman. But that's just my personal comparison.

Whoa!  Outstanding!  The Cayman 4.0 is more fun to drive than the 911 anyway.  You've chosen brilliantly.  Absolute dream car for me.

Did I miss it?  What colour did you spec inside and out?

GT Silver and standard interior (which is great). Basically a no frills version. But certainly open to suggestions.

But, just want to caution everyone that this is only a deposit to get me on a the dealer list for an allocation. So this will take a long time. But you have to start somewhere and I have time.
I love it when a plan comes together.

OH HECK YEAH!  GT Silver is 100% the colour I'd pick.  I'd probably go with red interior because, well, I'm flamboyant like that, haha.

Keeping it close to $100k I come out pretty much the same as you!  :rofl2:

^^ nice! So many possibilities. What do you think about just having 718 in the back instead of the full sentence “718 Cayman GTS”?

Same here, but the only options are 718, 718 Cayman GTS, or nothing, and each of those painted or black.

My thinking with just 718 in black is that its clean, to the point, and less in your face, plus the lower doors you have the GTS 4.0. Though one can option that out as well.

I’m turning into a Porsche pedant.

while not pertaining to the Cayman directly, Savagegeese just reviewed a Macan S and had VERY high praise for it...i would imagine most of the things he praised are likely common to other Porsche models, like the Cayman.

Drove a tuned Macan Turbo.(top in the line up).

It was spectacular. Felt darn near like a Cayman wagon.

The Porsche people who want something specific use these.

You could go bare and order the GTS from here.

Yup, I share your sentiments. I've liked every six-cylinder Macan I've driven. I tried really hard to get Mrs. Hire into a Taycan Cross Turismo or even a Macan GTS this time around, since she'll have her next car for a four-year lease.

Ultimately she said that my toys are one thing, but there's no way she's going to be seen driving around in a new Porsche at 30. (I'm 32).

I'm witchoo...  718 in black is nice n' clean, unless you go the fully customized route Rrocket suggested.

Very positive and I agree with it, although I'd love to know what they did to make it sound like that while driving, short of editing or having the microphone outside the vehicle!  I typically love the changes made during updates to a model, but I'm not sure how I feel about these ones.  I don't dislike any of it, and the interior is definitely more modern looking, but I'm not sure I prefer either the exterior or interior changes, it's more different than better to me (at least from watching a video)

So much want for this.  Exactly what I think of when someone says "911".  So iconic in my brain.
