Just to answer some questions:

1. Cayman vs. Boxster. I enjoyed both, but really loved the open air cabin in the Cayman and it felt like a true sports car...mini Ferrari if that makes sense. Plus I'm folicly challenged and even my wife preferred the Cayman. Though can't deny the open air feeling. Price wise they are relatively similar and I could spec a Boxster to a similar $ level

2. Ron, PTS, yes love it as well, but $$$$. Paint to Sample is now actually Custom Colour ($13,050) which gives you access to Porsche approved colours. Colour to sample which is any colour is an extra $13,050, and it has to be approved. Plus all this is limited in terms of slots, I believe. So likely even longer to get. But, I'll ask.

3. European delivery. Good point, I'll look into this.

Lastly fellas, we're just exchanging emails...though I guess that maybe the equivalent of "we're just going out for a drink"...
I love it when a plan comes together.

Yeah, the supply issues right now are crazy.

Total new 718s in stock in all of Canada: 2
Total new 911s in stock in all of Canada: 0

That is crazy. Good thing there are 49 Cayennes and 128 Macans available.  ;D

Noticed there is 1 Panamera Turbo S Sport Turismo available if you have a spare $266K.  :o

I'm pretty sure there were well over 200 Macans just a few weeks ago, and over 100 Cayennes. Taycans and Panameras have also dwindled rapidly.

I don't think Custom Color/PTS as is simple as saying you want it. There's only so many allocations. Probably ok if you're good with a long lead time before getting your car.

Not bad. This is the one I'm currently looking at:

PNJI2876

I think you should consider the Premium package, you're already paying for the Bose so the $2800 difference is worth it in my opinion.  Nice to have's are the folding mirrors, heated wheel, and LCA, but the upgraded PDLS and comfort access are must have's to me.

Have you tried the two way seats?  If not I would definitely be trying them out before ordering.  I personally have no idea, my only experience is the 18 ways in the Macan and they're awesome, but I don't have any reference to know if they're worth the money.  It's something I would want to check out though, a nice hugging seat in a sports car is part of the experience to me.

Yes, I hear you about the premium package. Initial I really wanted to keep the price sub $100,000 due to the upcoming luxury tax, but I misunderstood it and thought it would apply to the entire purchase price. But if its just on the amount over, then I could go over by a bit.

The Cayman GTS I rented had the standard two way seats and they were just fine for me. Remember they are still the sports seats plus with additional bolstering. Last yeat the GTS Boxster had the fancy 18 ways and I didn’t notice any difference.

That's good to hear about the seats, I've wondered because they're expensive upgrades.  I'm sure we wouldn't have selected them on the Macan if we didn't buy off the lot and take what they had.

On the Macan they're only a few hundred more than the power seats that most Macans have anyways.

Unless you desperately want a certain colour, the custom paint options are a waste of money, why bother?

100% Agree. I drove an older 911 a while ago with regular seats and was sliding about. Seats that keep you firmly in place without resorting to harnesses make the driving experience much, much better..

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

In my configuration I'm already paying $1000 to have the calipers painted black...that may be my limit :)

Some people (like me!) care a lot about colour. I don't think PTS would ever be a waste but that's just me.

And I agree with you as well...but at some point the price has to factor in. If we were talking about $5-8, they ok maybe. $13,000 is a bit rich, but hey if you can go for it I say.

Btw, my contact said European delivery is still on and he has a couple customers picking up cars from Stuttgart this month

How close do you live to the airports?  ;D

I'm sure I missed it but will you get manual, or PDK?  Not too long ago I wouldn't consider the PDK but after watching so many reviewers say how good it is I'd sure like to give one a good test drive.

Manual. The reviews are correct, the PDK is fantastic. Razor sharp and quick gear changes and it reads your mind. Much faster than the manual.

But here is the thing. When you’re just cruising and tooling about, it quickly, and I mean quickly shifts to 7. Before you even realize it. Which is great for fuel economy.

In contrast, in a manual, you have to shift up or down yourself, obviously. But that means when tooling around, you’re likely to leave it in a lower gear, because of flat six sound, for longer. So over time you end up listening to the flat six more often than in a PDK. But fuel economy will suffer.

That’s my weird take.
