So last year I rented a 2019 Boxster GTS for a day. Fantastic car, yes even with the turbo 4. Anyway, I booked a Cayman for next week to try it out and was hoping to get the base, because its the one that’s actually attainable for me.

Well just confirm the model I’m getting: 2021 Cayman GTS 4.0 . I’m not unhappy.

Prepare for many ear-gasms.  That engine is sensational.

Do you know if it'll be stick or PDK?

I didn’t ask, but I’m assuming PDK.

Also, they just confirmed…Carmine red! One of my favourite colours…I might as well just get my briefcase full of cash ready lol
Did you sell your van yet?  I wonder how much a lease would be if you traded in you BMW and put the van cash down as a down payment?  But then what would you drive in the winter?

Still have the van. I’m actually at a cottage for a week with the family. Without a roof rack the 4Runner didn’t have enough space for a family of 5 plus dog. And I didn’t have time to buy a roof rack.

I’m actually not 100% sure if I should sell the van or the 335. But one of them has to stay, I think.

Or sell both, and lease a base GTI for daily duties.
I love it when a plan comes together.

Oooo, a GTI and Porsche combo is DEADLY.  Excellent idea.  Make this happen!

Apparently on Porsche forums tons of owners have GTIs and Rs as dailies.

Looking on the Porsche website, it looks like only Toronto has them right now, with Montreal, Vancouver, Kelowna all being added in the spring of 2022.

Not even legit, Porsche Canada ones, like exotic car rentals. The yokels up here are way more interested in a Dodge Ram billowing black smoke out the stacks than a 911.....sigh....

This is from the Porsche website for renting their cars:
We also maintain invehicle and in-equipment technologies to track and monitor performance of our vehicles and to assist us with ensuring that our vehicles are used only in accordance with applicable laws and our rules and policies.

Hope they are somewhat lenient and actually let you enjoy their cars and this verbiage is there only for lawyers to be happy.

Must say that this looks really tempting as a reward for beyond reasonable OT.

It's likely there so that a person doesn't rent one and take it to the track and thrash on it for the day.  It's meant really as a long test drive more than anything else.
