So did you buy a Porsche yet or what?

Yeah, all the cool kids are doing it.

No, I’m going to string this out for a few more years...

Well if you're going to do that, you may as well blow what you've saved on a 4-Runner, then.

My recommendation is an SR5 TRD Off Road.

I’m so tempted...
I love it when a plan comes together.

If you don't have a garage would it be sacrilegious to own a 911 and drive it year round?

Absolutely not.

They have one of the most comprehensive cold weather testing in the business.

Not at all. A 911 on snows with a ski rack is a beautiful thing!

Sure you can drive it in the winter but subjecting it  to all of winter's mess,  I wouldn't. That begs the question is a year round Porsche worth less than a summer driven one ?  ;D

Lease the Porsche and then drive in winter.

I was thinking more of a used Carrara 4S somewhere in the $70k range.  I don't know how much leasing a new Carrara 4 would cost.

A lease would probably be around $2k a month. So a lot.

I don't see anything wrong with driving a 4S in the winter.

Took mine to Tremblant for some spring skiing once.  Roads were bare, it was warm, ski rack was tested to 100mph

I'm assuming you had to pass through 'Mexico' on your way to Tremblant?

Was this before they built the hwy-323 bi-pass at Lac-des-Plages, or after? Cause now there's a few spots where you could wind it out on a nice road... before, not so much  :rofl2:  I'm heading to Tremblant later today actually  ;D

And if I were to get a Carrera 4, or 4S I'd be very tempted to shod it with winters & drive it all winter. I've seen quite a few tooling around in Ottawa, the best was one with a nice full sized Thule on the roof. I wanted to keep the SLK on the road for the winter & get some winters for it, but was talked out of it. In reality I could've drove it for the most of December without any issues and even. Just wouldn't be able to take it to the ski hill, only way would be with the roof down & skis sticking out of the passenger seat

Long time ago, went to Montreal and up 15 IIRC, longer route but same time as going "as the crow flies"

As the crow flies has improved a lot now... would be fun in your 911 in the summer... nice little tour for you & the Mrs to go from Kingston, thru Ottawa & up past Montebello to Tremblant.

Same. I don't understand people who put their cars away for the Summer, unless it's something without a roof like a Cobra. And of all the sports car to worry about driving in Winter, 911 would be the least of my worries, it's so well made and very capable.

My old beater.   ;D
