Honestly, a PDK convertible would be at the bottom of my 911 list. The colour combo is interesting but I think it would be more desirable if it was better specced. Just my two cents though.

Even nicer colour combo on this 997.2 Turbo cab: https://www.weissach.com/listings/2010-porsche-911-997-2-turbo-cabriolet-pdk-vancouver-bc/

Same here... I'd want a coupe & manual in a 911... with the SLK I had no choice  ::)

Brown 997.2 cabrio...love the colour combo on this one...

https://www.autotrader.ca/a/porsche/911/vaughan/ontario/5_50382657_on20080128101817289/

Unless you could get the steering wheel replaced and add the correct shifter paddles, that would be a hard pass for me.

No need to change the wheel.  There's a couple paddle shifter kits on the market.

Champion is the nicest (IMO), but it isn't cheap.

How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

$80K for a lot of compromises.  :-\

Some compromises, but you get:
- Classic 911
- S
- Cabrio
- Unique colour combo
- very low km
- 997.2
- Flat six, non-turbo sound

So quite a lot going for it. Prices have bumped up a bit over the past year. I think if this drops to say $69k, I may bite

You wouldn't regret that tranny setup? I feel like I'd never be truly satisfied.

I'm with you on the rest, tho

No sure. My default answer would be manual or nothing, but I'm starting to be on the fence. For one, it opens up a bunch of other cars available for sale, vs chasing a unicorn. And secondly, that PDK Boxster GTS was a pretty good experience.

Are you planning to try out a manual to compare to the PDK before you buy?

Yes. I'm getting to the point where I need to test drive some more examples rather than just paper plan. Hopefully this summer.

Having driven both, I'd have no problem owning either.

But you MUST get the Sport Chrono package with the PDK.

Ironically, I wanted to take advantage of "the Great Staycation" of 2020 to get my tools and paint out, but I've been putting in overtime like there's no tomorrow... A good problem to have, but after reading all the "while in progress" threads in scale auto forums, I picked up ideas and techniques and I really want to get back at building! Added a thing or two to the stash over the years, including two other Tamiyas: the '60s Beetle and Karmann-Ghia. Tempted to get an airbrush...

Edit: thinking of brown metallic over tan for that 911 Turbo  8)

In the late 60's and early 70's I would sit in the backseat of my Dad's car on the way to the cottage. The whole family usually packed in the car for those trips. We would normally drive up Yonge St. past Newmarket. There was a Volkswagon dealer there which happened to be great for the backseat game of 'count the Bugs' for the length of the trip. As years past that Volkswagon dealer got himself a Porsche dealership as well.
From time to time I would see ice Green 911's parked on the lot for sale.
At the time I thought that it was the most beautiful color for a car.
The Porsche dealer was pfaff.
