The only Porsche worth buying besides a Taycan :
https://zero-ev.co.uk/

Specifically the conversion kit, no cutting, mounts directly to existing frame locations (can back out and put gas motor back):
https://electricporsche911.com/

Oh, and yes, this uses the same drive motor as in the 2013-2016 Tesla RWD P85 Model S, 400+ HP tire shredding torque.
Add a fake engine sound emulator.

Good for avoiding the timing chain maintenance on an older 911.  ;-)

I'm not sure.If anyone ever asked you but was there a dollar goal that you had for your Porsche fund?  Looks like you have done a really good job in saving for one.

Good questions and thanks. Short answer no, but I always dreamed of buying a Porsche (like 95% of us) and just wanted to take action. I'm generally good at saving, but less so on pulling the trigger, which speaks to my conservative nature. I tend to hang onto my cars for 6 - 8 years.

If you ask me right this moment, I'd love to have a new 4Runner and a 997.2 manual cabrio as my one-two replacing my 335i. And between what I saved and the 335i, I think I'm close.

And then of course there's the small issue of me really loving the 335i...help!
I love it when a plan comes together.

Unbelievable
What's so unbelievable? It's SE. That's what he does.

Tesla owners are pretty much just worse C8 fanbois in the sense that the only thing they care about that one specific metric(0-60 and torque, respectively). Because a car is totally just about that one metric.

Why hasn't he been banned from the forum? It's like Trump not saying anything to the Russians about the latest hacking going on. Just silence, and it goes on and on.

Well a new 4Runner and 911 would be a great two car garage.  I agree that you are likely close to getting those with what you have saved and your BMW.  The good thing is it's easy to find a new 4Runner but finding the perfect 911 is tough, got to be prepared to pull the trigger when you find the right one.

I honestly think the Turbo is the most boring 911 you can buy for the street. Way too capable. YMMV

Two great choices for sure.   Plus the low depreciation of both would help ease your conservative mindset.  That's always a consideration for me as well when trying to decide what vehicle to buy.

The C4S is obscenely capable too.

That was pretty much my issue between the 991 vs 987.2

The 991 is so good...so capable and effortless it seemed it lost a tiny something for me. Steering wasn't as good either..more isolated. But the car is soooooo good.

The 987.2 feels more analog, less refined. But in a really good way. More steering feel. More character IMO. Less perfect.

These are both firmly on my radar because they're both so good in slightly different ways.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Not sure I could decide between these two...

https://www.pfaffauto.com/used/vehicle/2015-porsche-911-gt3-id10444036.htm

https://www.pfaffauto.com/used/vehicle/2014-porsche-911-gt3-id10482692.htm

These seem surprisingly affordable in an unaffordable kind of way.

I’d take the silver.

I was thinking the same. $150K for a GT3 seems very reasonable indeed.
