Rare to see Boxsters that cheap in Canada.

Agree. This one looks like a "Firm special"...just needs some DIY love and care and assuming could be flipped for a small profit.

regardless...the asking price is $9,500 so a lot can be forgiven...

Depending on the IMS situation, if you could pick it up for $8k and fix up the minor things it would be a great entry level Porsche...

Rear main seal is another one, and you'd likely add a clutch job to that

Yup, but that can all be done at the same time as the IMS.

I agree that it could be a decent car, it's the sales pitch that made me laugh. Might as well say one lady owner...

And you'd think all that would have been done already on a car that old? Clutch could go but the IMS and RM don't need replacing twice do they?

This is my thinking too...At that age and mileage, if it was going to fail it probably has. Doesn't sound like the current owner is an enthusiast type, so if I were looking at this I'd be doing my research to figure out whether the IMS has been done or not. I am also not sure if the IMS was still an issue in 2002? Never really looked to hard at a Porsche, so my knowledge here is a little soft.....Back around 2002 my dad was car shopping between one of these Boxsters, a C5 or a XK8, ended up with an off-lease 99 XK8 that he's still driving today.

IMS was an issue until 2009.

And there's no rhyme or reason when the IMS goes...have read the stories of the going at 20k...and others at 200k.

I know this is in Quebec but it has low mileage and looks like it's been owned by an enthusiast.

PDK, but it has the Sport Chrono package which is a MUST HAVE with the PDK from what I've read.

This is the standard garage grit trap, as per building code. The fact that it's in the garage means this one has no basement below if attached to a house. I have the same trap, but in the basement, piped to a drain in the center of the garage.

Must be a Quebec thing then or maybe for garages below ground level?

When I saw Wing's attached garage, in a fairly recent build, I was stunned that there was no drain at all - just a slight slope to the door. I hose out my floor and mop it regularly, love having a drain!
