I never thought I would say this, but I'm considering getting a 911.  Maybe a 997 in the 2009-2011 age range.

As much as I would prefer a Carrera 2, I think I would actually buy a 4S, as I would daily it in Winter too.  :o :rofl2:

Thoughts?  Can you still fit reasonably (Jeff) sized people in the back?

P.S. This won't be an imminent purchase, maybe in a couple of years.
You’ll need one of these first for deliveries  :rofl2:
I looked into 977.1 and 2 back seat room a few years ago. I came away thinking no. Possibly the 2013 models and onward as the wheelbase is slightly longer.
Kids yes, adults no. Even small ones.

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

IQ fit in the back of my 911.

But normal size adults? For anything beyond a run to the corner store I'd say no.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

there's 997 driving around in -27 in snow, in my neighborhood everyday.  so i think it's doable all year.

but i don't think anyone with legs can fit in the back of 997...

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

Not even close.  Much smaller than the third rows in mid sized SUVs.

I'd buy a used 911 and an old LS, and presto, lots of seats.   ;D

i mentioned a used LS as a possible option for myself in a couple of years when the time comes...my wife wasn't keen on a 10 year old car...mainly because the last time i bought an older car (Grand Marquis), it had a few problems...i told her an LS is 10x the car the Grand Marquis was, so we'll see when the time comes.

My dad has been a long time Marquis owner. He had the last year model in ultimate trim or something.

My 90 LS, though many years older, was a nicer car.

And my 04 LS? Not even in the same universe.

I think my "Ultimate" quiver of vehicles would be an LS600h for daily driving - amazing sedan with hybrid tech and AWD, a 4Runner for winter mountain missions, and a 911.  All of those are well built and engineered.  No glass-cannon Pasta Rockets need apply.  Porsche has their gaffes, but they build the best sports cars for how I'd want to use one.

As much as I like the LS600, my recent test of the GS450h would have me choosing it over the LS....at least in price range I could afford.

And I can't believe I'm saying that.

Saw a nice looking young lady pulling out of a Starbuck's drive thru in her new Targa 4S shod with winters a couple of weeks ago.  I gave her a thumbs up and she returned a big smile.   :D

I'll have to have a look in the back then.  I was going to say kids, but my son is getting bigger all the time.  Even just for an hour or so, if he can't fit, then it's a no go.

Given I only drive ~5,000 - 8,000 km / year, one of my big questions is should this be my daily all year round or fair weather only. If I decide that, it will help with picking which model, etc.

^^^  I think it is only $41,106.34 but I could be off by a couple of pennies.

lol I already have a GT3 RS...albeit in lego form

I think if all year daily, I should aim for the newest 911 I can afford.

If seasonal, then maybe something a bit older / special might be interesting, like air-cooled or Spyder

A 997.2 Carrera 4S would make for a nice daily driver for you  ;D
