Oh man...its here...Cayman GTS with the non-turbo 4.0 flat-six...time to amp up my savings rate. I would take a no option, manual in red and call it my F-16 fighter jet Ferrari for the streets. Wonder how much$
I love it when a plan comes together.

Awesome. The normal GTS has disappeared from Porsche's web site too.

Who cares how many KMs are on it, not like you're going to drive it much.  :P

A tidy package...997.2, cabrio, manual, Black edition, high km but CPO...$68,000

https://www.autotrader.ca/a/porsche/911/vaughan/ontario/5_47202125_on20080128101817289/?showcpo=ShowCpo&ncse=no&ursrc=hl&orup=15_100_389&pc=L5R%203A7&sprx=-2

Yes, saw this .. but the ad seems wrong (odd considering it's a main Porsche dealer)...

2012 should be a 991 and ad states 7 speed manual, which 991's have.
Pics clearly show a 6 speed transmission and 997.2 interior though.

7 speed would be a cool to have, but think otherwise, the 997's are supposedly funner cars - smaller, less electronic etc than 991's

There are 2012 model year 997s.

Notwithstanding the 7 speed manual error, they did make 2012 997s...last of the lot though and special Black Editions. 2012 I believe was a bit of an overlap year.

And here's the coupe version ... 997.2, Black edition, fewer KMs, but no CPO, $64,000

https://www.autotrader.ca/a/porsche/911/thornhill/ontario/5_46900053_20120507170947304/?showcpo=ShowCpo&ncse=no&ursrc=hl&orup=81_100_387&pc=L5R%203A7&sprx=-2

I like these honest, simple Carreras

A bit more than I was looking to spend .. but would be a fun day out.
Actually, they have a 2003 targa, this one and a 2013 all with 6/7 speed manuals, so could test a 996, 997 and 991 in the same day .... I'm still at that stage of deciding, just now it has to be a manual :)

That coupe is nice, just too bad it doesn't have the sport seats.

They do have a pretty good selection at Pfaff...and at fairly reasonable prices given that its a Porsche dealer. Though I believe their pricing policy is that what you see is the best we can do.

I never thought I would say this, but I'm considering getting a 911.  Maybe a 997 in the 2009-2011 age range.

As much as I would prefer a Carrera 2, I think I would actually buy a 4S, as I would daily it in Winter too.  :o :rofl2:

Thoughts?  Can you still fit reasonably (Jeff) sized people in the back?

P.S. This won't be an imminent purchase, maybe in a couple of years.
