Niiiiiiiice! Great deal there I bet! My loaded ex-Golf TDI was bought under similar conditions - a year at the dealership but new, still wrapped.

Thanks for all the comments!

I was happy with the deal, very smooth & respectful transaction without a lot of haggling, it was 20% off MSRP plus the almost 2 additional years of warranty, and the trade value was just a little higher than I expected they would give.  The extra warranty was a huge deal to me because I suspect we'll keep this one a long time.

It's hard to compare fit and finish to the Evoque because of new versus almost 5 years old, but everything is so tight and buttoned down, and the attention to detail is awesome.  The infotainment makes the one in the Evoque look like a joke (same one as in the Jag and a 2008 LR2 I had way back) but I would hope the new one has improved in that area.  I'm finding it really interesting to compare to just getting the vette, I can definitely see why people would pay so much more for a 911.  The interior on the vette has come a long way, but it's a night/day comparison, and I'm sure that extra refinement can be felt in the drive as well.  I personally love the brutish nature of the vette, but can understand it not being for everyone.  There were 3 911 GT3RS in the showroom, not something I would cough up the money for, but they were damn impressive to look at!

Hard to believe that was a leftover.  That's the likely the colour i would chose if i was factory ordering one.

They have another identical one with just slightly different options if you're interested!  Once I saw it I knew it was the only colour I was interested in.

Congrats! Such a lovely colour and build. Looking forward to more opinions once you get some seat time and drifting around corners.

I agree. Usually CUVs are first ones out the door. I guess it sat on their lot because it wasn't a shade of black/grey/white/silver.

If you look on Autotrader there seems to be quite a few new '18s still available. Maybe the market has finally gotten saturated?

Other than a quick drive and being the passenger a # of times,  I was finally able to snag the keys for today!  I continue to be impressed with the overall quality and fit and finish of everything, I don't know why I just didn't expect to be that surprised by it.  The one disappointment (for me) is that it's almost too vault like and removed, the exhaust sounds great outside, but you barely register it inside.  I've played a few times recently with the paddles in the Q3 and every time came away with "why even bother", flick the paddle 1-1000, 2-1000, oh ya, there it changed.  Completely different experience with the PDK and I can see what a difference it makes (although I still found my left leg moving if I wasn't thinking about it!).  I did find the slightest distraction and I'd forget to change though, but I'm sure some more seat time and I would adapt.  There's no denying the shifts are lightning fast when you're stepping on it, so I can see the appeal, but I still don't see a C8 in my future unless they offer a manual.

Congrats!  Looking forward to impressions and hopefully it's not your average FGC. (Porsche doesn't fit that bill right?)

from what i've seen over the years, they seem to be the exception (in most cases).

It's a new 2018 with 64km's on it, but classified as used with the 6 year CPO warranty.

A great car, I'm sure you'll love it :) A few years ago I bought a Mazda with a massive discount which had had some minor cosmetic damage during delivery and had sat for more than 12 months in the dealer's yard. The one issue I had was with the tires: they had got cracks and fissures due to being left standing outside so long without being moved. I would check the state of your tires, in my case the dealership replaced them under the tire manufacurer's warranty.
