That is a huge parking space in this day and age.

That's a great looking ML Vmango!  I liked my 2011 a lot (other than the Friday afternoon electronics  ;D) and the next generation was even nicer.  I really think Mrs Vmango scored a winner.
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

Thanks man.

Really happy with the car. More than I thought. It really is a superior experience with the FGC. Driving dynamics and the “je ne sais quoi” = aces

We’ll see if it lasts.

Looking forward to the long trip to tremblant in a couple weeks. That will be a great test.

The Germans make great highway cruisers. I've had a few 1000-1300 km days in both my ML and X5 and was always amazed that I still felt relatively fresh at the destination.

Mercedes makes some classy SUVs that age well in design. This ML350 will still look good in 10 years...running or not.  ;D

One of my ski buds inherited an early 2000s ML, and he's had lots of issues with it, recently replaced with a Pilot, but the old ML, when running, drives very nice, the interior is like new and if it didn't have so damned many issues, would be a great daily driver.

(Please send me my run-on sentence trophy immediately...)

No doubt Mercedes can make a very nice vehicle, and if you get a reliable one, can be super enjoyable.

I think MB's issue is that they never successfully made the transition from automobiles being mechanical devices to being largely electronic.

AFAIR  my ML had exactly 2 mechanical issues (both oil seals) in 6 years and 140,000+ kms. In that same period it suffered 20+ failures of electrical systems, sensors and electronic components.

IDK  My mother's last two cars were 300E's (W124). She had an 86 for seven years and a 93 for nearly 10 (Although she had stopped driving for the last two tears my parents had the 93). Neither car ever had a repair, just routine fluid changes and brakes.

Things started going downhill in 95 I think...

Mercedes reliability took a pretty big dump around the year 2000

Yeah, I'd say mid 90's is where things started to go wrong. Certainly the W210 that replaced the W124 in 1995 was dramatically less reliable than it's predecessor.

W203 C-Class was a giant POS, W220 S-Class were garbage, ML320s had so many issues, and on and on. Mercedes then was trying to trim prices to match Lexus and quality went into the toilet.

Our W210 E-Class felt cheap compared to the W202 C-Class of the same year we owned, and it cost $20K more.

The late 80s Mercedes we owned were tanks. They went 400K easily.
