Mrs. Mango's 2015 Mercedes-Benz ML350 Bluetec

Well, as alluded to in the MDX thread here is the official Show and Shine.

We purchased this car from her dad. It's sitting at roughly 28,000 kilometres right now and is basically in new condition. An offer we couldn't refuse. I'll list the options below (hopefully I got most of them) and provide some pics. Our first FGC so this will be an interesting experiment but it is a beautiful SUV for Mrs. Mango. I really enjoy driving it. I actually quite enjoy the "old school" interior on this but you already know my affinity for buttons.

Before this situation presented itself we were set to replace the MDX with the new X3.

What a beaut.  Congrats to Mrs Mango (and I'm assuming you, who will get to drive it on family outings?)

What's the point of buying a brand new diesel if you're never going to drive it? That question applies to my dad as well, who has a 2014 TDI wagon with ~50k on it.

Congrats on the new ride, sounds like it was a no-brainer.

I can tell you that Gracenote is a pain.   If all your music on the SD card is from real albums or from Itunes it works ok.
But it totally falls over if, like most of my music, the tunes are ripped from Youtube.     It really only understands albums.

May not matter to you.

I don’t know if you do a lot of road trips but if you do you are in for a treat. My ML was the most comfortable vehicle I’ve ever experienced For 1000+ km days

looks practically brand new...perhaps when it's time for me to get another vehicle, i should get a 4 year old premium vehicle and look like a high roller (it would likely be the same price anyway).  :)

Looks great Vman, always liked the look of these ML's, very luxurious!!!

That 1km commute to work he had & the diesel don't play well together, doesn't allow time for the engine to sufficiently warm up and can potentially cause issues with the diesel particulate filter in the exhaust. My JGC would tell me when the exhaust regeneration was taking place & to keep driving for it to complete... a trick my service adviser gave me was to keep it up in higher RPM's (like above 2k for the diesel) in order to get the regeneration completed. Happened to me about 4 weeks ago during stop & go on the hwy coming home from work, so I just used the shift paddles to keep it in gear longer & then the regeneration was done before I got home. Something to just keep an eye on & a way to get the temperatures up there as well  ;)

And make sure no one puts gasoline in it instead of diesel!!!  :o  That was my biggest fear when anyone borrowed my JGC, or someone was going to fuel it up.

A family vehicle is meant to fit your lifestyle, not fit your lifestyle to the vehicle.  That's why all the cupholder and nooks and crannies are there.
