Needs a LS swap!

Needs a LS swap!

Subaru/Toyota should just sell them sans engine, or it should be an option. That way you can get rid of that Subaru brick and put in something worthy of a chassis like that.
Lighten up Francis.....

that LS is likely a lot of power...i doubt it would fit, but a nice silky smooth Toyota I6 would be epic.

"I doubt it will fit"

It does fit, very well, and finding a decent 2JZ as a swap is hugely expensive, also fitting an I6 in there would involve a lot of firewall surgery. The LS is a very popular swap for the BRZ/86/FR-S.

I drove the FR-S when it came out, and it's got a freakin' amazing chassis!  But, the engine, ugh.  I didn't even find the 200hp that bad, but the tractor sounds and potential for Subaru issues in the future don't appeal to me.  I get that the boxer contributes to the low CG, etc, but let's have a sweet driveline in this thing.

i wasn't doubting an LS would fit...a V8 isn't as long as an I6...i was talking about an I6 engine...i think the last one Toyota used was in the Lexus IS models about 15ish years ago (2JZ-GE).

i always liked these:

Just the normally aspirated one....that thing is weaksauce. If you are going through all the troubles of going I6, at least go for something with some whirlyjigs on it  ;D

well, it's weaksauce today...it was competitive 20 years ago when it was out...i would imagine a NA 3.0L I6 engine could likely do about 300-325HP...forced induction versions would likely push that at least 100HP higher.
