As Canada has a free trade deal with the EU  we should be automatically getting the next Golf and many more European cars. 

But while half the population is still fixated on the F150 I guess not.

I don't really think the trade deal necessarily means that Canada will just get a Euro-spec Golf, but probably shaves some of the regulatory requirements off.

Glad to hear the Mk8 Golf will solder on in Canada. It's a competent compact car and I'm sure the new one will too. I hope the manual will survive too.

This doesn't surprise me at all. In the U.S. the GTI is the most popular Golf variant but that's certainly not the case in Canada.

Still holding out hope that we'll also get a Golf wagon.
