So hit 100K KM last week. My initial impressions of the cars have not changed. Hhere are my costs over 45 months of ownership:
Expenses:
1) Winter tires + Allor rims: Don't remember exactly but ~$3,000
2) Floor mats $200
3) Upgraded puddle lights and screen protector: $125
4) Winter tire/AS tire swaps and initial install plus additional TPS sensors: $800
5) PTC Heater coil repair our of warranty: ~$900
6) Charging (fuel) costs: Unfortunately a software update took away the lifetime KWH used. However, if I approximate usage to 155wh per KM (it's rated at 130). Take off the peak rate of 7.4c/kWh and add 30% (for taxes, wall loss, and other hydro costs that appear on the bill that is not proportional to the energy used) then I am looking at a total cost of $1,490 for 100K KM (I hope I got my math right)
So in all total TCO (excluding optional items): 1490+900=2390 or 2.4c per km and including optional items (coz i spent it) is 6.5c/km
Fuel cost comparison: An ICE car of similar performance (~283hp) would be around 10l/100km of premium. @$1.9/l The total cost for 100K KM would be 10000 litres at a total cost of $19,000. so that's a minimum of 19c per km for fuel costs alone.
