Sure wouldn't bother putting premium in the 5.7L Hemi. That engine is going to grenade it's cam and lifters anyway.

Yeah...looks like anyone with an Ecoboost engine can get quite a bit more hp by using 93+

I guess I won't run 93 when I take the Sonata to the drag strip in September.   ;D

I don't think there is even anywhere to buy 93 octane in NB.  ???  87-89-91 seems to be the standard around here.

At least once you hit Kent county you can get ethanol free if you pick the right stations.

I have the following choices at supermarkets/hypermarkets in France :

SP95-E10 (your 91)
gazole/diesel

Tough choice  :rofl2:

Sure, in Germany I could throw money out the window and fill with petrol 98 (your 93) or even 102 (your 97), but why lol.

Honestly, despite a heavy tarted-up motor (205ch out of 1,6 litres displacement), it's a waste to go beyond 95 RON/ 91 AKI. But would have been interesting to see what the F-150 Ecoboost makes out of the two tiers of premium petrol.

Don’t think we have 97—I have never seen it.

We usually can get 91 and 94 in a few spots..

I bet 97 would unleash even more horsepower in an Ecoboost engine.

Only PetroCan has 94 that I know of.  I’ve only seen 93 in the US, but not all retailers have it.

Nothing higher than 91 'round these parts.  Ethanol free (isn't all 91 octane?) - it's what I buy for the lawn & garden equipment.  Seems to run better.  Truck gets it if we are going camping.  Otherwise, I don't think it'd be worth it cost-wise.

Chevron has 94, on a separate pump too. Doesn’t seem to be well loved in the car community but the powersports guys love it.

Husky has 94 in the western provinces...

Petro 91 is not ethanol free. Husky has never been ethanol free.

Unless your lawn and garden equipment is old, you’d think the new stuff can handle ethanol.

I dunno how you define "new", but my dad's had to replace so many lawn equipments because of ethanol eating away seals and such.......sad that blowers and lawn equipements are practically disposable after just a few years ago thesedays.

91 from the Irving refinery here is ethanol free. We sell it at the YC fuel dock as ethanol is not boat friendly.

In AB the Co-op 91 is ethanol free and my go to for the Land Rover and the bikes.

Everything else is suspect including all the fancy 93/94 offerings.

It seems like 91 gives me about 5% more economy in the Rover which takes some of the sting out of it. The early Jag/Ford 5.0L seems to have a timing chain guide issue so my unsupported belief that less "stress" from the ECU continually retarding timing due to lower octane may prolong life?? Anyhow it is starting to see less mileage (10k / year) so fuel is not really a big cost.

I use 87 in my ATV with ethanol...the manual says it is the recommended fuel so why splurge for ethanol free gas? :D
