2019 Grand Sport
« on: August 04, 2019, 11:50:35 am »
Just took a few pics after picking it up from having CermicPro applied.  I also tidied up the garage to make space so I could comfortably get in there and was relieved that it wasn't an issue.

I'm definitely still getting used to it, but only 200 more km's before the first service and I can go over 4000rpm!  To say I'm in love at this point would be a huge understatement.

That's pretty hot. Congrats on the purchase!

Looking into a C7 myself in a year's time. Probably a Stingray Z51, but might see if they have any GS I want and can afford.

What a beautiful car, I'd go crazy trying to keep it under 4000 rpm. It'll feel great to open er' up!

Thanks everyone!  It's a 2LT with options: Heritage package, black wheels, red calipers, and Stage 2 aero.  I may regret that last one, but I loved the look so much and other than the first 2 scrapes, I've become much better at knowing the limitations.

I had it on the highway yesterday with the roof off and it's a pretty visceral experience compared to the 350Z with the top down!  You feel like you're right on top of the road and more on top of the car than sitting inside it (if that makes sense).  I'm not very tall, but I swear my forehead sits above the windshield header.  The good news is I don't think I'll regret not getting a convertible, I can pop that roof on/off really quick and it's all the open air experience I need.  Just a minor loss of convenience by not just pushing a button, and you do lose a lot of cargo space in the back with the roof stored.

If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

I have driven a soft top C7 in Cali as a rental.

That trunk is freakin' tiny with the top down. I was barely able to squeeze my dad's and my luggage in there, and we honestly didn't have that much luggage.

I personally will also look into the targa top versus a soft top. Targa top just has so much more cargo space, and a massive cargo opening with the hatch.

I have read that even with the hard top stored in the trunk, there is a bit of cargo space below the roof, no?

Yes, there is underneath, as well as the shelf behind the seats, but neither are easy to get to when just running errands.  I'm not complaining, I'll adapt!  I was just pointing out that it does eat up a lot of space, but the benefit from the convertible is with the top on the coupe is like a pickup truck in the back compared to what I'm used to!

Quite an imposing view from the back, you'd know you are following something serious

Man thats a great looking car. The targa was a great choice as the cabrio top, to me, ruins the lines of this car.
Lighten up Francis.....
