For the simple fact I could get a Golf R in Lapiz Blue with a 6spd manual instantly makes it an instant winner. Plus I won't look like my dad bought me the cheapest Mercedes for when I went to university.

LOL .... Or better off ask the VW pundits on the forum to proof read ... ;D

One other thing... the R, like all Golfs, does have a sizable and usable  pass- through worth mentioning; it's not simply 40/60 split.

One other thing... the R, like all Golfs, does have a sizable and usable  pass- through worth mentioning; it's not simply 40/60 split.

It does, yes... but the 40/20/40 configuration in the Mercedes means having more flexibility for which side you want to put bulky items, and which side you want to put (for instance) a child seat.

Third cheapest.  ;) The A220 sedan is $1000 cheaper, and the B250 is $10 less.  ;D
