$65k and it comes in a manual.

Also not a BMW in drag.

I think  it should be pointed out that the extra wide sills are because it's Z4. Those sills are required to make up for losing rigidity when the roof is lopped off.

There would be additional weight savings if it wasn't offered as a drop top.

Also doesn't look like that fish that first crawled out of the water in the evolutionary tables.  I would much, MUCH, MUCH rather have the 'Vette.

same here...or get the new one if you want...i'm not sure how much it is, but i don't think it's going to be much more than the current ones.

100%....the Vette would be my choice as well. I cannot believe how indifferent the response to this new Supra has been. No manual, rebadged BMW= a collective meh. I am a huge MK4 Supra fanboy and this thing does absolutely nothing for me.
Lighten up Francis.....

I'd take the Supra over the Vette for the same reason I'd take the Cayman over it.....a smaller, tidier package.

How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Barely smaller.  Vette's are tiny.

Wheelbase is ~10" shorter on the Supra.

Not sure on which planet that is "barely" smaller.  In automotive terms, a wheelbase difference of a couple inches, let alone ~10 inches is HUGE.

I'm starting to really like this little rocket. If I'm shopping for a Cayman, this would be cross-shopped, which is I think where Toyota was aiming.

Like the F-16 of sports cars...

Same here.  I'll own one someday IF (and a big if) the car has Toyota reliability and NOT BMW reliability....

This all remains to be seen.

Corvette
Length: 4493mm
Width: 1877mm
Height: 1239mm

Supra
Length: 4379mm
Width: 1854mm
Height: 1292mm

11cm in length isn't exactly night and day. Corvette has a much roomier interior.

It's the wheelbase that's key here (like the Cayman)....you can have all the overhang you want.

If you want to go back to the 1970s sure. Looks kinda dorky though.

I don't think either the Cayman or Supra look "dorky".  (nearly identical in wheelbase and OAL to each other).

Cayman looks good in the last revision.

Supra, looks dorky. Wouldn't be so bad if they'd get rid of all the fake vents and crap. Big overhangs don't help.

Obviously much of the overhand is front due to long I6 I think....

Supra looks OK...I don't think they did a bad job of getting to look like the FT-1 show car.

You don't know which planet the two cars are virtually the same size?  Well, Earth, apparently.  I said that the Supra is barely smaller.  Which it true.  You spun it that this was a discussion about wheelbase.

This isn't Trump, is it?

"A smaller, tidier package"  I said.  And referenced the Cayman.

Which includes more than just OAL in my world.  It also includes things like wheelbase, etc.

YMMV.

So yes, overall length is similar.  ::) But where it often matters in terms of handling and quick reflexes...wheelbase...the Supra (and Cayman) is significantly smaller.

Wheelbase absolutely matters in terms of dynamics but not in terms of describing the size of a vehicle.  If two cars are 15 ft long but one has a 2 ft shorter wheelbase nobody would say it's the smaller car.
