i still think it looks awkward at the rear...i'm sure it's a great drivers car, but i can't imagine there are that many people who care about driving dynamics in a $25k compact car...also not a fan of the infotainment display, but it's not the only offender in the class so i won't hold too much of a grudge about that aspect of it...i'm sure it's a decent car, but it's a big "meh" for me personally.

I get the awkwardness in the rear - but having seen several on the road now I am used to it, and find it strikes me as more distinctive / unique than awkward.  Overall it's a striking design that looks more upscale / premium-ish than its class rivals.  And the interior is very well done as is the case with all Mazdas.  It's very far from "meh" for me.   Needs a turbo, though.
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

Mazda had some demo event at the Western Fair last weekend...they had a large section of the parking lot closed off and set up as a closed course circuit and had a trailer full of various vehicles (mostly CX-3, CX-5, Mazda3 in sedan and hatch and a Mazda6 as well)...i don't think there was a CX-9 or the MX-5 models, but don't quote me...i took a look at the CX-5 in Signature trim...it was nice, but for some reason, didn't impress me as much as i thought i would be....i didn't drive one, so perhaps a drive and more seat time would change my opinion, but i was expecting to be wowed and i wasn't...that's not to say it was crap, it wasn't...i guess it just wasn't as special as i thought it would be, considering it's $40k. :-[
