Smart for GM to finally make a small SUV that people would maybe want to buy. Was never a truck or SUV guy so Trailblazer means nothing to me. These thing are all people buy these days, so might as well join in on the madness.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

I don't understand GM sometimes...  If they're slotting it in between the Trax and Equinox, well that will be another small-ish CUV to go along with:  Trax, Equinox, Blazer.  That will be FOUR CUV's sitting within the span of TWO segments.  That's too much!!!  They'll cannibilize sales from each other.

If they are replacing the Trax, well, so much for trying to build up a Model name.  GM is famous for this.  They change the names of their models constantly.  Cavalier -> Cobalt -> Cruze!!!!  So much for trying to build a sense of stability and longevity.

Honda hasn't renamed the Civic in, what, 40 years?  Same goes for the CR-V, the Rav4, and the Corolla.  These nameplates haven't changed since their introduction into their respective segments decades ago.  This is partially what contributes to their reputation of longevity...Honda and Toyota don't go changing names every 5 years.

Also, GM is copying the headlight treatment directly from the 1st gen of the (new) Cherokee.  That's the headlight treatment that received so much derision from the rest of us, and which JEEP subsequently changed to something a little more conventional.

Well, it was introduced in Shanghai?  And GM is betting big on the Chinese market. So, maybe built in China?

OR

Seeing as its built on the same platform as the Blazer, it could be built at the same plant as the Blazer in Mexico.  Either way, neither here, nor the US.

Above the Bolt, a CUV'ish with a plug & Voltec powertrain from the now defunct Volt to replace the Trax, it would have make sense, at least sort of.

As others already mentioned, to many product offers from GM into the exact same segment, without any significant differentiation between them...

Gone but not forgotten in chronological order: 2019 Volt, 2013 Volt, 2014 Spark EV, 2012 Volt and many others before...

No differentiation? Not defending GM or the segment AT ALL, but they are no different from Hyundai, VAG, Ford, etc. All have 125 different CUVs in seemingly 4 segments.

Disagree.

Ford has a sub-compact (EcoSport) Compact (Escape) Midsize (Edge) Fullsize (Explorer)

VW has a compact (Tiguan) and a Fullsize (Atlas)

Honda has a sub-compact (HRV), Compact (CRV), Midsize (Passport) Fullsize (Pilot)

Chevy, on the other hand:  sub-compact (Trax) other sub-compact (Trailblazer), compact (Equinox) other compact (Blazer), etc.

and don't forget about the GMC and Buick versions of said vehicles...i'm not sure if there is any sharing with Cadillac, so maybe they don't count too.

Ford is expanding their line up...this is by 2022:

Ecosport - Puma - Escape - baby Bronco - Fusion (as a CUV) - Edge - Explorer - Bronco

So Ford is going down the same path as GM...

if you count GMC and Buick, it is only fair to count all that are under Honda (Acura) and VAG (Audi, Lambo, Porsche, Bentley, Seat, Skoda)...and you know how that will turn out...

Yeah, but there is clear distinction between Honda (CRV, Pilot) and Acura (RDX, MDX).  Same with Toyota and Lexus.

With GM, the distinction between Chevy, GMC, and even Buick isn't great.
