I have a manual gearbox, dipstick, proper wheel for a backrest adjustment (lumbar is electric, as is the massage function), and the 308 normally does have a spare (i have an amp though; cuz of the premium sound system)  ;D . Also a fire extinguisher under the passenger seat  :rofl2:

Not necessarily a feature, but still...

I am very horny for pop up headlights. Good call.

It would be pretty ballsy for a manufacturer to come out with a new model with these :)

The change from popup to flush mount headlights totally ruined the look of the old NSX IMO.

I very purposely sought out an NA Miata because of my love of pop-up headlamps.

It was the first car my daughter really saw them on, or at least noticed. She said “that’s the coolest car thing I’ve ever seen.”

Indeed.

Downdraft or side draft  Webers at one choke per cylinder and 11:1 compression with 100 octane leaded gas.  A pity that reliable electronic ignitions appeared at the very end of that era.

Engines with no dipstick are a step backward.  And as John said  the lack of gauges is  a bad thing.

In 1974  my Bosses V12 Ferrari had a gated shifter.  Almost impossible to get into 2nd until the gearbox was fully warmed up.

Probably can't due to meat stick safety standards or some such BS. Pop ups are sexy!!

Vent windows, the little vent below the steering wheel that blew cool air directly at your plums, manual transmissions, controls for HVAC and radio on the dash not in a stupid I pad thing.

Ha ha my Land Rover still has the "plums vent". How about 2 speed transfer cases and actually recovery points? Starting to become rare.

I concur...anything that has 4x4 on it and doesn't have actual recovery points should be ashamed of itself.
Lighten up Francis.....

One feature that I really loved back in the day was the high beam dimmer switch on the floor.  Although I never experienced any, there might of been electrical issues with salt and sand on your footwear in the winter, but I honestly loved this feature back then.

I vividly remember driving a late 80's Ford stepside at night in the rain and when I went up turn off the high beams the lights went out completely. I stomped on the floor like a mad man until they turned back on.

That might be why they're no longer used.

I remember being in a friends car when his floor actuator stuck in the high beam position.  We had a long way to go to get home and that was before the highways around here were twinned. Needless to say we pissed off a lot of people.  ;D

Outside floor vents. My old 76 Silverado had huge floor vents, and with the back window open, and the no draft (vent) side windows cracked open, you didn't need aircon. Even just running around town, the cab was always comfortable.

You mean like a new Grand Cherokee?  There is nowhere to hook up on those things, front or back, on a GC!  :o Had to wrap the tow strap around the IRS cradle to get him out...otherwise it was the bumper, and those aren't made of bumpers anymore.  :P

They're an option on Grand Cherokees, which is fair since no one takes their GC off-road anyways.

Still a bithc trying to tow one out of a drift when there's nothing to hook onto.  Even my Sonic has little hooks/attachment points for yanking it out of whatever you might get a Sonic stuck in.  Dog poo...?
