I’m surrounded by truck owners that never tow with them, never go off-road, and never put anything in them larger than a giant Costco TP package.

The mall parking lots are filled to the brim with trucks that have done nothing more than our Corolla could have done.

I like the ones where the bed has never been used for anything. Nothing better than a truck with no bedliner in it and virgin paint in the box.
Lighten up Francis.....

I talked about the contractor who has a Ram HD for towing but prefers driving his Ridgeline day to day hands down. He was good, was adamant I shouldn't move to Edmonton.

I would say that most truck owners have some sort of travel trailer, or a decent sized boat that they want to pull.

No way.  I'd be shocked if more than 10% of truck owners pulled a travel trailer or a boat (that couldn't be hauled with a Highlander).

People should drive what they want
But a Taco driving position sucks and RL is too small in the cab  ;D

I'd probably get my list down to the Taco and RL. Toyota for something I could off road with, RL for more urban warrior truck duties. I bet 95% of current full size truck owners could switch to the Honda and be more than happy with the change.

If both of these trucks were actually more efficient than the half tons, I’d 100% support you here since I also like the RL....

But look at this real world numbers CR got during their long term testing:

The RL is somewhere between a midsize double cab and full size crew cab. The Taco is too small in the cab.

I get shamed everytime I bring up the thought of a V6 full size though. But I'd totally get a V6 full size.

I'm rocking a V6 full size and it's more than adequate.
You have a v6 in the Ford ?

Of the eight full size newer trucks on my street, one tows a large trailer and the huge Ram tows a tiny tent trailer a Subaru could tow.

The ninth truck is a 90s GM beater truck that hauls more stuff than all the other trucks combined. It belongs to my retired fire captain neighbour and he's always got some project on the go, be it fixing up dirt bikes or rebuilding something or hauling yard waste or a big snowblower he uses to help a bunch of seniors that can't do their own snow removal, that truck is worked hard.

The V6-EcoBoost is now sold in 60% of all F150s, nothing to be ashamed of anymore...

But then, there are the qualitative measures.  To compare to my Tundra:  The height at which you tower over everything else, the deep bass note of the V8, The RWD driving dynamics, the 'feel' of a half-ton.  These are all things that a Ridgeline cannot hope to match.  Driving a Ridgeline would be like driving a Pilot!!!
i know a lot of people with trucks (many of whom i work with)...none of them tow, and one of them just recently booked a rental trailer, so he'll be the first to tow a trailer with it, and it's just a rental for a week...all of them had sedans prior to trucks...they are all used as sedans would be used...all of them.

and the things you mentioned as positives for your Tundra, some may be negatives to others...someone who buys a Ridgeline over a Tundra may be looking for things like lower fuel consumption, easier to manage size for day to day duties or safety in case you get in an accident...even though there may not be a big gap in up front purchase price, compared to the Ridgeline, the Tundra uses about 50% more fuel and is lousy in an accident.
When you've lost the argument, admit defeat and hit the smite button.

Yup I have the base engine NA V6 XLT) Totally fine (more than fine) for me puttering around in. I don’t yearn for anything else. But I am an empty box guy and tow just a few times at the cottage.

Plus you have a toy with a V8 for those times when you feel like playing...

I don't have a second vehicle, so my truck is my DD and my toy.

I don't think buying a truck and not using it for truck things is any different than buying a sporty car over a base model one, or buying a 3 row CUV over a much more superior minivan for example.  I've had close to 30 vehicles of all sorts and have just recently got into trucks.  I've had a Tundra, Ridgeline and Tacoma,  I want to try an F-150, Ram, and maybe one of the GMs soon.
