for those bemoaning the price of the top trim RAM, take note, this Ford is $86k.

To be fair, Ram doesn't have anything to compete with this trim in the 1500 truck range though.  This Ford is way more powerful with the Raptor engine now.

The Ram 1500 Limited is a direct competitor to this truck.  Sure, it may not have a 450hp V6, but it has a 400hp V8.  Competitive enough, I would say.
not too mention, an interior (the RAM) that looks 10x better.

I'd take the Ram 1500 over this any day.

Not enough though...

Rumours on Ford forums is that this and the Raptor will receive another engine option in 2020 or 2021: 5.2 V8 Supercharged 700hp :-)

meh...no one buys the leather lined limited trim to go off road and haul gravel and plywood...it's a "luxury truck"...it's not a shop truck...i'll buy a bit of towing a trailer, etc once in a while, but 95% of the trucks i see on the roads have one person and are hauling air...they are today's sedan...period.

My work truck is a LTZ trim , leather is the only way to go
Also they have better seats ,

LTZ is equivalent to the Lariat though, which is three rungs below the Limited. And that’s not even counting the Raptor.

nice truck!

these are getting crazy. the amount of luxury is insane. nice to offer though. with incentives as they are, you can always get some sweet deals on the high end pick-ups. while still expensive, for what you get, it's not a bad buy.

In 2011, LTZ was the top Chevy model

Once upon a time Lariat was Ford's top trim, and Laramie was Ram's.  Now they're all mid-range trims.

meh... they are still high end, just not luxury like the new limiteds and such.

the difference from a mid range (slt, xlt, Kodiak) and a high end (Laramie, lariat, whatever) is a bigger jump than the jump from high end to luxury trim. the latter is more a dolled up high end truck.

It's the 100 more lb/ft of torque that's the difference at low RPM.  Ford simply has the best engine lineup today with 6 engines to choose from.

Ram does look slightly better inside though.  I find it looks way better in pics than in real life.

Look, you may think so, but the Hemi in the Ram is more than adequate.  Yes, the Ford has MORE power and torque, and good for it, but nobody who owns a Ram with a Hemi is complaining about not having enough power.

Totally, but the Hemi can barely beat the 2.7TT...and that truck can get amazing gas mpg! CR tested the 2.7 and got 19mpg overall.

So?  0-60 isn't the only metric by which to measure truck performance, and I dare say it is one of the least important.

Plus, the 2.7 beats the 3.5, but I'm sure you wouldn't say the 2.7 is the more capable engine.

Anyway, I'll take the rumble and deep basso note of a V8 over the buzziness of a V6 any day of the week, no matter how powerful that V6 is.  Overall experience matters more than 0-69.

Not true...the 3.5 pulls 5s flat while the 2.7 pulls high 5s. But the biggest different is torque and towing capacity.

regardless, high 5s in a 2 1/2 ton truck is damn fast.
