i still don't get why they have the shifter there...i understand you want to free up space in the center console, but then just use a dial like the new RAM trucks.

Nice to see McLean House in some of the background pics. Near where I grew up as a wee kid. :)

I actually quite like that.  Not sure I like it $89K much, but still.

Any anyone who says you can't daily a C63 is just being a :censor:, c'mon...  :shake:

I got used to the column mounted stalk shift on the ML quite quickly and actually found it convenient. Just a quick flick of your fingers to shift into or out of gear.

I think the discs and pads were $5K, and seeing as I was looking to get rid before anything really important blew up, I thought I'd rather do it before having to put new brakes on for the next owner.  It was a great (nearly) 2 years. Still can't get enough of that engine....

I would have kept it until about now anyway, and then traded.  But I did it early because of the ridiculous brake cost.

Did you have to go OEM?  Was there alternatives?
Or did you need to go OEM because lease?

So far my most irritating OEM gouge on the IS-F is spark plugs.  $20 ea. from dealer. Seriously?

There was only one OEM alternative, as mine had the big brake kit.  But it's not a good idea to stray from AMG OEM if you want a decent trade-in price. It wasn't a lease.  Either way, I was only ever planning on keeping the car for 2 years anyway, so that was $5K saved towards something motorcycle related.

^^For the AMG it's looks like 330mm in the back.  (Bob?)

For the IS-F, it's 345mm.

Both cars have Brembo 6 pots in the front, 4 pots in the rear.

The G37S with the larger brakes are 355mm vented front and 350mm vented for the rears...and it sure doesn't cost $5k to replace everything. ;)

Yep 330mm at the rear.  The AMG ones are made from unobtanium.

They are also two piece, which means ideally you should only have to pay for the disc and not the bell.
