The Nokians are still on the Mazda. It's been warmer and still quite wet. The dislike of the wet weather performance is not even remotely related to one turn.

Treadwear has been abysmal this far with the front tires already down to 8/32" over only ~2,000km!!
Alignment issue?
or taking corners aggressively (wearing down the tires more quickly)?

Alignment issue?
KalTire checked alignment at the time of the install. All perfect.

Did you measure them or going by the website?
I measure tread depth using a manual gauge I bought at CT.  The rears are down to 9/32"... Just under.

I do not drive as aggressively as you all suggest - I do 90% highway only and am fuel economy minded.

Yesterday I drove my wife to the airport in the rain.  She, who is not auto savvy, continually inquired as to whether I had a flat because of the sound the tires made every time I hit a puddle. Needless to say, I did not have a flat and tire pressure is holding just fine.

These tires are quite poor in the wet.

Nokians are gone. Long live the Michelin Pilot Sport a/s3+!  $79.93 all-in was the sole difference as Kal Tire honored the $75 internal discount that did not previously apply to Michelin tires, in addition to the $70 Michelin rebate.

Initial impressions to come shortly after the drive home.

Home.

Ok, so they're a tad (negligible) louder with respect to road noise, and the steering is far more direct (almost to the pint of twitchy - I like it!).  Dry grip is expectedly tenacious.  Ride comfort is identical.

It rained lightly. Not really great enough to test, but it is identically 6'C out and I found a nice big puddle around a bend in the road... Ron, you're absolutely correct. These things are miraculous in the wet.

If I were living in Palm Springs, I'd likely still prefer the Nokians, but where rain is expected often (you know, not in the desert), I'd take these Michelins any day.

Thanks for the update.

A lot of reviews say they get noisier as they age.  I suppose with your low mileage that won't be an issue.

i'm sure they are awesome...i was going to get them for my Rio5, but chose the Altimax RT43's instead due to a pretty decent price different (at the time)...the RT43's are also a very well rated tire, so i didn't feel like i was giving up much...if i had a more performance oriented vehicle, i likely would have simply got the Michelin's anyway, but it's a Rio5, so i'm not sure i'd get my money's worth out of that 10/10s i'd likely never use anyway.

Very rainy day today. I'm in love. These tires are the t!ts!!  They have an interesting sound in the wet... It's quiet, but somewhat melodic.

They are riding slightly more harsh than the Nokians but more comfortable than the OEM Bridgestone tires that came on the car.

Final thoughts, for all you that don't care:

The Nokians are listed as a UHP A/S tire. Perhaps compared to a dedicated summer tire they are competent as an A/S tire but I'd say they're too far towards a dedicated summer tire.  Cold/wet/cold & wet performance was not great, but warm/dry was exceptional. Truly a fun Tire with no downsides assuming conditions are right.

Unfortunately, Canadian temperatures are not always summer tire friendly.

The Michelins are an exceptional A/S tire. I haven't found their limit yet and there's no issues in the wet. Ron is right that these things are epic in the wet.

In the dry, the Michelins dive very much like a regular all season. They don't really egg you on to drive harder, but they're stable, grippy forever, quiet, and comfortable (a bit firmer until they warm up).

If I move somewhere warm without winter, I'm going for the Nokians. In the GTA, Pilot Sport all the way.
