even in the cold rain, both my Firestone Indy 500 and General RS summers are amazing in the wet. Grip for days, and no hydroplaning at all. So happy. Who needs AS tires....  :P
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

MY solution to wet weather grip is to drive a 6000lb vehicle with a high center of gravity.  It doesn't matter what wet weather lateral grip is, because I ain't taking that corner at speed no matter what.

In all seriousness, I have no idea how the Michelin A/S on the truck performance in the wet...it hasn't really rained since I put them on, and I don't drive aggressively enough to really find out anyway.  These days I value comfort and quietness over outright grip.

Plenty of rain this weekend - how are the new Michelins AS3's?
They go on Monday afternoon.  KalTire couldn't fit me in before then.

These days I value comfort and quietness over outright grip.

One day I'll get there, I'm sure... But currently, I want to drive that little Mazda like I stole/inherited it from my wife's grandparents.  If I'm going to drive a 9+year old base model compact sedan, I need to extract maximum fun howsoever possible.  UHP tires are a great way to do that, plus they increase safety over comfort. Win-win for my current tastes.

Last spring we put Michelin touring tires on the Corolla and their wet performance is astounding.

Not the same tire, but I think Michelin has made some serious leaps in terms of wet weather traction.

Last night we drove from a family dinner in North York back to Guelph.  Rain was quite heavy. Hydroplane resistance was not good on the Nokians. Low speed is ok, but above 60km/h even partially pooled roadways were  nerve wrecking.

Really looking forward to the Michelins.

Fwiw, I really liked the Michelin premiers on the Corolla.  Hydroplane resistance was just ok, but they were incredibly comfortable and handled pretty well.

I just wanted something with better performance this time around.

Work came up.  Had to move the tire swap to May 2. Stay tuned... Or don't.

Going to rain today so hope you left the car at home, just to be safe of course.  ;D

I want to know where this eponymious corner is that was the death of his Nokians.  I'm sure that Tire Rack would love to use it for testing their all-season tires at temperatures that they are not designed to work in.  Of course the Michelins are going to be better (can't wait for the verdict!) but then again it's likely to be warmer my May 2, right?

The Nokians are still on the Mazda. It's been warmer and still quite wet. The dislike of the wet weather performance is not even remotely related to one turn.

Treadwear has been abysmal this far with the front tires already down to 8/32" over only ~2,000km!!
