If you are thinking of a 3 row CUV, don't, just get a minivan

These just make so much sense for families that need this type of space... really this is the perfect Canadian family of 5 vehicle.

Or even family of four if you want to haul a lot of stuff, do a lot of camping, etc.

all true...i never understood the negative stigma with minivans...they make so much sense.

100% agree as a family of 5 with a dog. I'd love to upgrade the Odyssey, but everytime I look at other options, everyone (Q7, MB, SUV) would be a down grade as far as utility and space is concerned.
I love it when a plan comes together.

I miss my old Sienna dearly, my Sequoia doesn't compare in terms of 8 passenger comfort. But I'd have to look at a Mercedes Benz Metris next which has a 2400 lb payload.

And yet, I've lost count of the number of people I've talked to who are shopping for a new family vehicle, they have 2 or 3 kids, need to haul a TON of stuff around, and when I bring up the fact that they could be driving a minivan, they completely lose it, and say that Oh No, they wouldn't be seen dead or alive in one.

I just don't get it.  It is just so much more practical of a vehicle than a 3 row crossover like a Highlander, Pilot or Pathfinder.  They're often cheaper, too (well, okay, maybe not the Odyssey/Sienna...those are expensive).

We have had our Odyssey for almost 8 years now.  Being a family of 5 it's been perfect and has held up well.

I personally don't mind driving it.  To me it handles way better than my truck and actually it drives about the same if not better than most CUVs of this vintage.  That being said I have tried to get my wife to give it up for a "cooler" looking SUV but she simply refuses.  We did rent a full size F-150 last summer on holidays for a week and honestly I was shocked how much better vans still are for family duty.

My sister was keen on moving up to a Highlander from a Matrix when they were expecting their third child, until they realized that three rows meant sweet nothing for storage. They've been very happy with a Sienna for years now, tow a giant tent trailer with it on holiday.

One thing I've noticed with my wife's circle of friends is they don't want a van...end of story. I think its because they probably grew up in a minivan and hate the mom mobile stigma attached to them. Sad since they usually make the buying decisions.

I should add that these are educated career-focused women who didn't start having kids until a little later so 2 max seems to be the norm.

I like sliding doors. Makes access easy without having to worry about dinging adjacent vehicles.

To me this is the only minivan to consider, lots of space, comfortable, reliable and AWD....why look anywhere else. Cannot believe that people are under the impression that a Highlander/Pilot/MDX are "cooler" than this thing.
Lighten up Francis.....

Yeah, and proves itself not to have the traditional Fiatsler quality......

I built one of those online.  The amount of stuff you have to had to equal a Toyota Sienna Limited is crazy.  Can't remember the price difference, but it was pretty significant.  I do like the Metris.  And I like the extra towing capacity.

Tough to say.  Minivan sales are dropping evey year.  Doubtful.  I would buy a Lexus minivan. Especially if it could tow 5000lbs.

I doubt it, most people see these as disposable transportation units their crotch goblins can ruin with snot, gogurt and crayons.
