I'm really fortunate to have a garage nearby owned and run by a talented mechanic who is scrupulously honest and only hires staff who meet his standards for quality work and integrity.  Unfortunately he's past retirement age and could opt to stop working at any time.  He'd be the only person I'd bring a car to for an inspection.
