That interior looks dated, and drab... I was never into VW products, too boring, except the GTi of course.

I think it lacks some key features at that trim level too.

Disagree that it looks dated and drab.  It's also very functional and feels reasonably upscale.

Agree that it's missing a few things, heated steering wheel being one of them.  But, it was first released in 2013 and the market has moved to more standard features since then.

I agree. I like VW interior, simple and clean.  Everytime i see one i miss the one we had.   Buddy I play hockey with bought a Highline AWD manual, gorgeous car

And they age well because of that & don't look dated!

I see quite a few of these around Edmonton.

I'm pretty sure there's a mistake in the article - the height difference is 1.5 inches, not cm. The Alltrack is noticeably higher than the Golf wagon.

I reviewed one a couple of years ago and really liked how it drove and felt overall. It would be a great fit for us, except it's a bit small for our needs right now.

When we scale our current wagon down once our oldest kid is driving (in two years, fingers crossed!) something like this would be a good replacement.

I think I saw on Instagram a while ago that Justin Pritchard bought one of these. If so I bet it makes a good highway cruiser.

I really like the Alltrack and it's great that you can get a bunch of features and a manual transmission.

The main differences between my car and this are the 1.5 inches in added clearance, some body cladding, and a selectable AWD mode. Wasn't worth the nearly 10k higher than my unit for me (at that price I'd have got a Honda Clarity).

This body style is incredibly practical. I think if I had a family I'd like more rear legroom, but other than that this car does everything well. So far no FGC symptoms on my end .

I looked it up.  It's 1.5 cm not inches.  The article is right. The suspension difference is 0.6 inches between regular wagon and Alltrack.

Edit: Looked at tire sizes as well.  Top trim Wagon vs Alltrack the tires on the Alltrack have a diameter that's 0.9" larger, so that would add another 0.45" of height?

So total is 1.1" higher?

if the suspension gives 0.6 inches of increased height, and the tire diameter add 0.9 inches of height, that's 1.5 inches in total difference...1.5 inches is 38.1 mm (or 3.81 cm).

I don't know how you think a 0.9" increase in tire diameter raises the vehicle 0.9". You won't beat me on this one.

no, you're likely right...just clarifying maybe where the numbers came from, not saying they are correct.

It would. But you could change that with some coding

I just noticed that VW is no longer offering the White Silver Metallic colour on the Golf.  Too bad, that was my favourite option by far.
