Lexus IS 250 AWD.  Private sale,  10-12K; keep the rest of the money for maintenance and repairs if needed.

Space wise, dont u think TLX is better?

It’s a freaking Lexus RX.  You’ll die before it does.
Yep!

How about the running cost though? Will MDX gives me a better running cost?

No way.  The RX is solid.  If I was looking for an SUV.  It be be top near the top of my list.  2nd gen CX-5 would be 1st.  Mostly because of fuel economy.  The Canadian plant where the RX is made is great, and the RX runs on regular!

Many people say that Lexus has a pretty expensive maintenance and also I prefer MDX’s interior compared to RX.

But guys really make me consider RX though

Just for my own future sake, if needed, do you know any mechanic or shop that is trustworthy in Hamilton area?

I go to Steve at Proserve Automotive on Plains Rd East in Burlington.  I like to use him as he lets bring in my own parts.  Also does other things like install stereos, change fenders, fixes my trailer wiring.  Always willing to help me out when I need something.  Honest and affordable.  He is close to Mapleview mall, so if it's a big repair.  You can waste more money at the mall.

Nope.  It's a Highlander under the skin and costs little to look after.  If you want lattes and lap-dances and all the Lexus dealer offers for lux stuff, then sure, it might be more expensive.  Any Toyota dealer can handle your needs, and any competent Toyota indie can take care of it.

The MDX is a lot bigger, but the Lexus is better built.

I think pricing wise, with the same millage and same year. RX is about 10-20% higher compare to MDX. Interior-wise MDX is much better, for me.

It's a personal preference thing.  We looked at RXs and MDXs and the missus really preferred the smaller size of the RX and the better outward visibility.  For products that compete head to head they're actually quite different once you start driving both of them.
