I have the General Grabber AT2 on the Highlander as it's summer tire. They're great on the forest service roads and "roads" in BC used to access trail heads. A couple of summers ago we had to go up some kinda gnarly trails in the Height of the Rockies and we had a convoy of vehicles and my "wimpy softroader" was one of the only vehicles that didn't suffer tire issues.
But on the pavement, if you're at all concerned about noise, you will regret an AT-style tire. Going with a regular all season is a much saner idea. And as they've worn, they've gotten louder, omg.
I've had two sets of General tires, the Grabbers and the Altimax snow tires. The Altimaxes are for sure not up to the performance of the Blizzaks I've got now, but overall they were very acceptable.
