I like the idea, but the Urus doesn't look great. The concept was a lot better.

Ouch!     Saw it at the auto show. While my reaction was less visceral, it certainly isn't a vehicle I would call attractive, and perhaps more damning - it did not impress as being anything particularly special / expensive / unique as far as aesthetics go.

That's basically how I feel about it too.

Jeremy Clarkson test drove it in one of the last episodes of The Grand Tour. He seemed to like it, and it performs very well.

It's certainly an impressive vehicle, but it's a VAG parts bin special at the end of the day.  For Lambo money I'd want something a little more bespoke.

I have no doubt that it drives really, really well.

Clarkson raced it on snow/ice against a Porsche 911 Turbo driven by Abbie Eaton and he was able to keep up (on a penis shaped course I might add).

They're going to sell a TON of them to rich trust fund babies who want something really flashy to daily drive.

Of all the exotic car makers, Lamborghini at least has some legacy / heritage with SUVs...
I love it when a plan comes together.

The LM002 was put together to win military contracts, therefor cool.

This is a design-committee, parts bin special, mall-roader, therefor not.

This.

Ditto.

Hard to rationalize over a top cheese Cayenne....

Any yet, maybe not so hard if you had unlimited (relatively speaking) funds and didn't want to be mistaken for lowly Cayenne 4S?  At least this thing has some pretty impressive performance chops for that massive price tag.

Won't be hard to rationalize for the handful of people in Canada in this market.  I think the looks alone of this thing set it apart from the Cayenne.  The brand name too.  When VW Touareg was available the same argument could have been made about why get the Cayenne when you can just have a Touareg, basically very similar vehicles.

Because you couldn't get a Touareg with a twin turbocharged V8, LOL.

Not exactly. The Touareg didn't offer anywhere near the performance of the Cayenne.
