Kinda surprised it wasn't the G70....

^ Yeah. G70 is very nice.

I'd probably be fine with the 2.0 Stinger. As long as the engine isn't intrusive.

At this point I think I'm down with an isolation mobile like the ES or late Lacrosse.

It's not intrusive from what I understand..but it's also character less. It's "OK".

But I think in a sports sedan...I'd want a bit more character and of course power.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

The curb weight difference between G70 and the Stinger, both in 3.3T form, is 1775 to 1889 kg. With a less powerful engine that will become quite noticeable. But who cares if it's a COTY?  ;)
BTW the ES V6 is .... 1655kg and it has more room than either of the above.

The current ES isn't the numb cream-puff of generations past.  Still comfortable as you could want - but not a floaty sensory deprivation tank.

It depends which version. The F-Sport is pretty sporty (shockingly).

But the "regular" one is very quiet. They were boasting that they reached previous LS version (not sure which version) of quiet. And one story said that during early focus group testing the ES was TOO quiet and (somehow) was making people car sick. They claimed they had to add more noise back into the car.

SHB and I looked at the ES and Lacrosse a couple of years ago. Both were neck and neck. I think the ES was a bit more buttoned down, but the Lacrosse was a bit more quiet, and felt quicker, not that that was a big consideration.

IIRC we both liked the interior of the Lacrosse better style wise.

Then he bought a CRV.

Give the new ES a try. Pretty shocking improvement in the FSport guise.

But even more lux in the regular version.

Wish it were RWD though!

Ya, i've read reviews really praising the new ES in F-sport guise. It sounds like the sport mode with adaptive dampers really livens things up. I just wish it were AWD.

Prolly a first year build issue...doesn’t detract to the awesomeness of this car.

It sure would if I owned it!

Unacceptable when you're trying to compete against other luxury sport sedans.

But it not luxury sport sedans
It is more like a Chevy SS model , fast not  luxurious

I'd disagree with that. It's definitely luxurious. I'd not call it cheap or bare bones.

KIA themselves positioned the car as such....that is to say against the German competition. Which are definitely in the luxury sport class.

The G70 shouldn't creak around the openings like the Stinger does.  Autoblog, Edmund's,  Truedelta...all complain about the interior noise.

An almost $50,000 vehicle should be solid, shouldn't it? Edmund's Stinger logbook: "There are more creaks and groans coming from the Stinger than I'd like to hear from a car with just more than 12,000 miles on it. The majority of them seem to originate from the area surrounding the sunroof, but I also hear some from what sounds like the C-pillar [rear roof pillar]. They're most prominent over undulating surfaces." "...Unfortunately, the logbook continues to fill with complaints about creaks and rattles, which I remember calling out months ago, not long after the Stinger arrived...." "...But there's a creak coming from somewhere on the passenger side...But if I'd dropped a little more than $50K only to start hearing noises in the cabin within the first year of ownership, I'd be a little disappointed."  "For me, the Stinger GT's biggest drawback is its ride quality. This is a two-part complaint: (1) Bumps and cracks register rather prominently in the cabin, and (2) the chassis feels kinda quivery despite Kia's claim of an 'ultra-stiff foundation.'

If Buick made this car you would claim that the squeeks add to the car's appreciation over time.

I believe credit is due to the fact that Kia even made this car.  Clearly it needs some work on the quality but the performance is astounding for the price.

Possibly worse! You'd feel lucky if the only issues from your FGC were rattles!

But a bit disappointing considering such low mileage.

It would be nice if the editor would talk with Kia and see what number of Stingers they want to sell in Canada
Maybe they were only forecasting sales of 1200 for the year  ???

They rarely -- if ever -- reveal their sales projections to us.
