I guess the manual+AWD+wagon combination is a popular configuration for VW.  https://driving.ca/volkswagen/auto-news/news/vw-is-moving-more-manual-transmission-vehicles-than-it-expected

Seeing as they originally planned on a take rate of 25% (which to me seemed high in itself) the actual take rate is closer to 40%.  So maybe they'll keep offering this combination for years to come.

Now if we could only get Mazda to offer their AWD hatchback with a manual transmission.

Station wagons and manuals are a dying breed, so this was interesting to hear. The Alltrack is a nice package and I hope they continue to offer it when the Mk8 comes out.

Unfortunately they got rid of the manual in the top trim AWD Golf wagon, though it's still offered in the top trim Alltrack.

Kind of funny that the article calls the Golf wagon a Jetta though.

Does VW extend the custom colour program to Golf Wagons? Might almost be worth the $2G (or whatever it was) to get a manual AWD wagon in brown.

No, it's only for the cars built in Germany (R and e-Golf).

One of the reviewers I watched yesterday mentioned that VW said the GTI is moving about 50:50 manuals and automatics.

I thought that was a bit of good news.

I wonder what the breakdown will be for the GLI?

I'm guessing the GLI will be skewed heavily towards automatics but should still have a decent manual take rate.
