Assume it locks. Tailgate thieves will find it easier lifting though.

I think it's a home run for RAM. Just another reason to ignore FCA's slightly iffy quality when buying.

If you're gonna ignore iffy quality, why not buy a Ford with a superior tailgate step

Yeah, in a strict definition I don't see the "multi" part of the gate function. It opens and it closes... what other functions does it perform?

They should've used something catchy, like a FlexWay or a MultiTurn tailgate (FCA, feel free to use either)

FlexGate? If it turns out to be a bad design, would they call it a FlexGate-gate or just a flex-gate?

I think it's pretty cool. the fact that it's an option is the big thing. you don't need to take it.

some pros; easier to get at stuff in the box, easier to clean out sand/debris without catching in the seam, you have a *sturdy* spot to grab when using the step in the box, still can be used like a traditional one for long loads... I think it's pretty good.

any negatives are just speculation of future issues. that comes with every new thing. I think it's a good option and will have a decent take rate. more so than the rambox as it doesn't "take anything away" from the bed.

Now all they have to do is make the Ram reliable. The last model was below average. These latest Rams look really dated against the competition.

IMO of course

, the current RAM is the best 1/2 ton in the SUV/daily driver passenger substitute category. The RAMS drive better and handle better than all other 1/2 tons. The power trains and the auto tranny is good as well. Although the rotary dial for the auto tranny blows. The E-torque is a great effort.

The GM interior was very easy to use

LOL. It's not like for like, but it is close. The point I was making is looks dated, Like something from 2000. if you compare it, the Dodge Ram to new Chevy offering.

Now THAT is the one that isn't actually all new. Same cab and a lot of the same bodywork as the old one, but with a new interior, front end, and frame.
