If not rusted underneath, this could sell for 3,995$ here in QC in less than 24 hrs. Most people old enough to know Tercels think it's the greatest car ever made.

It has a couple minor bits of rust but the underside looks very solid (I still need to get more mud off but its been too cold for a car wash). The tires will need replaced but 13s are cheap. The seat fabric is more stained than the photos show and at the end of the day it has 350k kms on it. I think I could get $1500 for it here with that work done. I might make it the new kids car. We will see.

I thought Tercel and Sport in the same sentence just don't sound right.

This generation apparently had much improved handling ... the previous ones must have been very modest indeed!

That interior invokes feelings of happy simpler times.

When I could work all the controls with my eyes on the road and gloves on.  And I could fix it all too.

I sold my Uncle in laws 96 4 door Tercel for him a few years back, was a 4 door auto with a/c and cruise. Think I had it listed only a few hours before a buyer came from 3 hours away to buy it. Had around 180k on it and was in great shape, he was offered $1,000 for it from the Chevy dealer on trade for a Cruze Diesel, I got him $2500 and probably could've got alot more in hindsight.

On the original post I immediately thought Tercel then second guessed myself later but what is interesting is it looks like Toyota was already in the cheapening process here. The exterior door lock of the previous version looked better, at this point this one looked mailed in.

The Tercel had a frozen rear brake drum. I think because I took it to the car wash in winter then brought home and parked with hand brake on for a few week. I did manage to free it.

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Speaking of that. Decent front tires, almost bald rear ones plus a pile of snow makes for a seriously tail happy car  ;D

Deep freeze here still - it has been pretty much below -20C since the middle of January here so no chance of snow melt. I have a 5ft pile on one side of my driveway and a 3ft pile on the other. Very unusual for here.

Yep, this cold weather can leave any time now. We have less snow than last year, but this deep freeze sucks.
