Lexus SC400 was another great luxury coupe

Yes and I loved that car. Was even able to do a short drive in one.
You buying?

I wish. This was when the car was current, my Uncle (the one you met) had one for a weekend and was visiting so I got to take it for a spin. Although I was looking at RC F's online today but again, not buying.
Can get a really nice one for $10k these days....
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

I love, LOVE 90s cars. The cars I listed for as a kid.

My stable would be heavy in some 90s classics.

Mine too, heavy on Honda's and Mazda's with a sprinkling of Toyota's and Nissan's.

Still on my dream garage list, along with all the other 90s touring cars.

I was never really a fan of the Japanese cars, but the 90s Euro stuff was where it was at for me.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

The Vigor was actually a nice driving car.  Nearly bought one.  The longitudinal five banger made the car quite balanced.

My mom had a 1993 MB 300E (very near to the end of the W124's run)  Superb car that gave us 10 years of completely trouble free service and I'm told is still on the road.

A W124 E-Class with the single cam 3.0 engine is probably in the top five most durable cars ever built. The 3.2L twin cam cars at the very end of the run have head gasket issues, which puts them behind the older SOHC models. The four speed AT will last a million kms as long as the fluid is changed every 50K. The engine is nearly indestructible. My 190E 2.6 had a slightly smaller version of that engine mated to the same trans and was running well at 510K when sold. The trans and engine both never opened.

The 90s in many ways wasn't a good decade for the Germans though. Quality really fell through the period and by the early 2000s a high percentage of their models had become the butt of automotive jokes.

There's good German cars to be had from then, but you have to choose carefully. Very carefully.

I agree on the German stuff. It really was a decade of huge progress for Japanese brands, even though I am not a huge Japanese car guy I will admit that. If I was going to pick one though I'd probably opt for a 300ZX.

A 93-97 Cadillac STS stands out to me as I do think it played a big roll in keeping Cadillac on the map through the decade.

94-97 Yukon GT is still super cool in my eyes, as are the cyclone/typhoon trucks.

Some of my favorite Italians came out of the era too; 355, 360, Diablo.

Course, I love me some 4th gen f-bodies; not my favorite from a styling perspective, but the platform got some big improvements in 93 that made serious performance available to the masses. 275hp LT1 in a $20K Camaro was not insignificant, and the infamous LS1 that came later only made it better (though unfortunately, the cars got uglier).

Edit: C5 Corvette also hails from the 90's and remains one of my favorite Corvettes.

True. While ours was a '93 the W124 was really an '80's car.(We had a 1986 before the '93) By the mid 90's the German reliability slide had started,

Two American vehicles that no one has mentioned that I would love to have some day are the Dodge Vioer and Plymouth Prowler.

Also where is the love for the NA & NB miatas?

I certainly mentioned the Miatas. Mazda played a pivotal role in the sports car boom of the 90s showing that consumers will buy an affordable sports car in pretty good volumes. We didn't see a lot of little roadsters, but we did see a lot of various sports machines and it was a great time in many ways to be an enthusiast. There were many affordable options.

Electronic fuel injection became standard and overall drive ability and reliability leaped compared to the 80s. Cars from the 90s are still typically useful even now and in the case of well made models, function not unlike a modern car.

There are a bunch of cars that debuted in the ‘80s that were made into the ‘90s that I love, like the W-124, but to me it’s an ‘80s car and doesn’t count.  Otherwise I would have added the SAAB 900 SPG.

Gotta love 90s Japanese cars, what's to hate?

I'd say that late 80s/ early 90s has been my favourite era of sports cars during my lifetime.  If I could add a couple more cars to my stable in this era it would be a 300Z TT and an NSX.

I dunno, the Japanese cars never captured my imagination like the Euro ones did.

You all know this is my favourite era of cars, and thus my "attainable" list is too long to be interesting to anyone - it has a lot of Euro cars like Alfa Romeos, Audis, etc. in it, but here are a few standouts:

sorry for the long post, couldn't help myself. You all know it could be three times as long too. You are welcome  :P
