Still a looker! I like that they didn't put a touchscreen sitting on top of the dash like other manufacturers have done, and I like the big old tach dead centre still with the 2 configurable screens on each side  ;D

Was playing with the German configurator and noticed you can get a carbon fibre roof as an option now which is neat.

I like that you can still get a fairly basic 911 but you can also option it out with all sorts of tech gadgets.

I wish they would call the Wet Mode "Moist Mode" instead.

i've always had a soft spot for yellow...it's a tough colour for a car as it doesn't work on some, but this, the Mustang and the Corvette all pull off yellow quite well.

I was watching the Carfection walk around and noticed he said that the 911 now comes with a particulate filter.  First time I've heard of it on a gas engine.

The PDK is now up to eight gears. Keep stuffing them in there.

yea, it's apparently really good...but i guess it should be since they charge about $3500 for the automatic.

Here's the video I was referring to.

Sucks that it gained 100lbs.  And I'm not crazy about the light bar across the back.

On the GT3 the manual is actually a no-cost option. Apparently the same will be true on the new Carrera.

Given that they charge $3,500 for the auto, does the manual really qualify as a "no cost option"?  Isn't that just the standard "base" option?  Or is there a 3rd tranny I'm unaware of?

Mind you it wouldn't shock me if Porsche's base option was no transmission

But that's the point, they are no longer charging $3500 extra for the PDK. It's baked into the base price now.

For quite a while now the 911 is the best made German car you can buy.  Along with th GT-R it's the choice of performance cars for people that actually want to drive their car and enjoy owning something ridiculously fast you can take pretty much everywhere.

Anyone watch the vid series of Tavarish rebuilding his fire damaged Lambo?  Jeez, under the skin of that thing it looks like a kit car, what a load of crap. Nothing to do with the damage, just look at the haphazard engineering and poor quality and placement of systems.

Aren't Porsche and Lambo, both owned by the same group?
