I absolutely love these modern luxury American land speed boats. Always have and wish I could sport one but my wife would divorce me before I could finish the sentence with the words "Lincoln Continental" in it. And unfortunately, it wouldn't even fit in the garage beside the Odyssey.
well, the likely great thing about this car is you can likely find a mint condition used one in a few years for pennies on the dollar...the Taurus i had before my Rio5 was $33k++  brand new...i got it 18 months old with 33k kms on it for $18k all in...basically half the price in 18 months...still had the rest of the warranty and it was actually a pretty decent car for me (in terms of reliability)...only put 2 sets of brakes, a tune up (timing belt, spark plugs, etc) and a set of tires and i had it 10 years.

People bash the NA manufacturers, but if you can weed out some of the turds in their line-up, you can get a great bargain just as you've pointed out!

Yup. A lot of turds from the NA manufacturers but also some great ones and great deals - even if it's just a handful.
yup, just do a bit of research on the models and because of their higher depreciation, you can get solid value on the used market.

Kinda sad that I have only seen a couple of Contis in the flesh since they came out.   :P

I've seen exactly zero on the road. Zero Kia Stingers, zero Genesis 70 or 90's either. I do see the odd high end Mercedes sedans. Think the sedan is dying much quicker than anyone thought.

I bet he does!  Lovely car!  I forgot about it having suicide rear doors.  That's just cool in itself!  8)

there were only 80 of them, so it's not like the mass produced Lincolns will have that feature.

Maybe making them all with suicide doors is how to increase sales; USP and all that.

that would actually have been a really good idea...give them something to differentiate themselves with...only offering it with a limited run of 80 vehicles is stupid.

I thought they were going to do a second run of suicide door models for 2020 as well.

i don't know...my point is, don't do a limited run of 80 vehicles...make all of them this way...it would actually make this car quite unique and special and maybe someone would actually buy it.

It's probably too expensive to be realistic though. It think the intent with this model is to drum up interest in the normal one.

if they can carry the cost to do 80, it makes far more sense to make that "standard" and have all of them that way.

Those 80 are literally more than double the price of the base model though.

they still likely lost money on every one...that special stuff isn't cheap...rrocket likely knows this too.

Yes, and they'd lose even more money if they made it standard is my point.  :P

if they sold well, they wouldn't...they can amortize the cost they already spent over tens of thousands of units, instead of just 80.
