My friend's father was trying to buy a Bolt last year before the incentive went away in Ontario... went to a couple dealers in the GTA to test drive one... none had one, nor did they know when they were getting one. The allotment for Canada was pretty small... I think they could sell more of these if they were available
if they had better availability and the rebates were still on, they would move some...however, even when the rebates were on, they were non-existent at dealerships and the lead time was a few months...no test drives, no sitting in one at the dealership while you look around, nothing...read online, decide you want one, then order it...the amount of people likely OK with that purchase method is tiny...the only time i saw one was at the Lifestyle Home Show late last year where there was a couple brought to demonstrate their EV cars...that's great, but no one can buy them...and since the rebate left, no dealer will order one as they'll likely never sell it now...don't get me wrong, it's a great car, but at $53k, it's an extremely tough sell...as i said, you can likely get a nicely optioned Corolla Hybrid next for $25k...sure, you still have to put gas in it and all the other ICE stuff (oil changes, etc), but that $25-$30k savings makes it a lot more affordable for people to purchase.
