This will do well for them, nothing too offensive about the design & the improvements throughout will just make it more attractive to buyers. Like that it doesn't come with a CVT, but it's odd about the pano-roof in Canada   I get the manufacturing limitation, but for fack sakes make the upgrade to the plant so you can do the pano-roof  :banghead:  Seems like a cost cutting measure that GM would've done in the early 2000's

What a coincidence!!!

EDIT:  Wait, this one has substantial changes over the 2018, so never mind.

I like that they are matching the styling of their real trucks.  This thing looks like a baby 4-runner.

I read that the price differential in US is only $800 for the equivalent Hybrid.  If it's close to that here, why wouldn't you go with it.

My step-daughter wants to replace her 2013 Tucson as it is showing signs of aging rapidly.
Looked into what kind of deals are available on the '18 RAV as I know the new one is just around the corner.  Answer is nada, zip.  All they had (as of 2 days ago) was $1,000 cash back, which goes bye bye if you finance, and 0% financing up to 36 months.

Now the cover is off the new one, and Black Friday...now waiting to see if any carrots get dangled.

It seems that Toyota doesn't often offer incentives.

Yes, that appears true.  Honda had nothing on the CRV either

The redesigned, Canadian-made Toyota RAV4's upgrades are as plentiful as they are pragmatic.

The new one does look SOOO much better than the current 2018 Generation.  I really like the new design direction.

My co worker bought a 2018 LE. AWD last night in Gatineau.

$1400 dealer discount + $1000 cash rebate from Toyota + $750 rebate also from Toyota. He got the extra $750 after requesting a quote from toyota.ca.

Dealer markup is approx. $2k. Apparently the dealer he bought from sold 10 AWD models in two days.

same here...if i were buying a new vehicle, one of the Hybrid trims would likely be at the top of my list (probably the XSE, but i'd need to drive them).

Agreed with all the comments. They'll sell a ton of these.  I'd likely go LE AWD to avoid the 19" wheels.

If indeed the difference between hybrid and non-hybrid is nominal, I'd go for the Limited hybrid as I could really use rear heated seats for my kids in the winter.

I am being very serious. My girls have 6:00am practices. Getting from a warm bed into a frozen seat is not the most pleasant experience. My eldest is 11 and is big enough to ride in the front passenger seat. She appreciates the heated seat VERY much. My 8yo and my 6yo son riding in the back - I feel bad for them when they jump in the back of a frozen car. Doing that ~10-12 times a week between 3 kids - I think reducing the risk justifies the added cost of rear heated seats

Not sure I like the grimace expression on the grille. Rest of the car looks well done.

Edit: Looks like the XSE has a sightly different grille.

The 2018 hybrid Rav4 was my first choice to replace our old CRV, I really liked how it drove compared to the regular one. The extra weight low down, instant torque and brake regen gave it a go-kart type feeling.

Will be very interested how this new one test drives

I listened to my kids when they said they did not want leather seats.

They sell seat heaters $20 each at Costco.

A blue with white roof Trail would be my choice. Price looks a bit steep for that trim at $38.7K and I bet does not include freight. I can't say I like the design but I don't absolutely dislike it either so I may be able to warm up to it. I admit thought, this would be THE rational choice for a compact SUV with long term ownership in mind. I just need to learn to like it.
