Thanks. 20-day, 1000km Update, because why not.
According to Fuelly, I've got a lifetime average of 27L/100kms. This terrible number is likely due to the fact that I drive mostly short trips on a daily basis, and the truck isn't quite broken in yet. I'm starting to see trip averages of 21L/100kms, but Fuelly hasn't caught up yet. I expect to see tank averages of 20-21L/100kms pretty soon.
The truck goes in tomorrow for a bit of warranty work. The truck had a blown speaker (woofer) in the front passenger door. The dealership diagnosed it a couple of weeks ago, and ordered a new speaker.
I installed the winter wheels and Blizzaks on Monday. The truck handles better on slippery roads now. It understeers less, and stops more confidently.
I found some space behind the rear seats that I can access when the seats are folded up. This is where I will keep my hitch drawbar, recovery strap, etc. I want anything heavy I keep back there to be secure so that if we get into a collision, or roll the truck, those heavy items aren't rolling around the cabin hitting occupants. As long as I keep the seats in the down position, then those items will stay behind the seats.
I've been really, really happy with the truck so far as a daily driver. I haven't used it for anything truck-related yet. But it works really, really well as a family hauler. It is comfortable, quiet, very powerful, and has a commanding presence on the road. When we had the van, people would race to get in front of us, cut us off, and just generally be
. I see this sort of behavior far less often now that I drive a truck.
